Yes, this is a sweet short story. But it could've been better.
The feelings are there, but they could be more powerful. They could share stories, talk more meaningful things and etc.

Nice point there from Twilight - for a hero, it is the quiet, boring nights that you treasure the most. Being there with her friends without some Dark Cthonic Thing From Beyond Sanity trying to dissolve its way through Ponyville, someone trying to buy/steal/destroy one of her friends' property or even Luna or Celestia having another psychotic episode is a rare pleasure to be enjoyed.
