I'm just gonna put a comment here so I have proof that when this story gets swamped with readers, I can say I read this before it became mainstream. Good story, fantastic detail with Lyra's emotions, it was nicely done.

You cannot cancel this! It would be a grave injustice to let such a wonderful idea die on the vine. Oh wait, it looks like you are considering another chapter, never mind I will put my panic mode back in its box.
In all seriousness, this a wonderful opening to a story that looks like it has all kinds of potential. You get Lyra's thoughts and emotions across very smoothly and realistically. The only thing that makes me a little uneasy about the story at all, because I'm a big softie, is that it looks like Lyra will lose Bonbon at some point. Even if the story is a little sad in the end, with the wonderful way that you write, I will enjoy the read.
