I do love Mrs Cake power-bottoming Spike through this. I know she's not in the tags, but will we ever see Spike using this more aggressive attitude with Sweetie? Can't help but think that after a few days of having Spike pounding her into the headboard she'd welcome an open relationship just to stop walking funny.

I felt suddenly inclined to add a line of pure comedy in this otherwise serious drama. Just all the terrible cheating and I felt like the narrator wanted to shame her over the littering and not anything else 😂

I REALLY REALLY hope that Sweetie Belle was cheating on Spike with that male student and with her just using Spike as eye-candy and emotional support for own selfish desires. That way Spike really has no reason to feel guilty about cheating on her and he can spin the story to make it look like he was “always” been faithful while Sweetie is the cheating unfaithful harlot to his friends and family. Making her think that she really is a terrible pony.
I just want to see Sweetie Belle go through some serious emotional suffering.

To answer your review, that scene is intended to be Spike making up something happening that wasn't happening to justify his cheating with Mrs. Cake. If he could pretend that Sweetie Belle is emotionally cheating on him, it removes him of the guilt. I don't think the commissioner wants to take the story in that direction, however, they do plan on there being more Sweetie Belle's emotional suffering just in a different way. Thank you for your review and I appreciate how much you enjoy the story!

I really hope that later on in the story, that Sweetie Belle has been cheating on Spike with that male Student of hers and that Carrot Cake was cheating on Cup Cake with some mare, along before Spike and Cup Cale had started. That way the pair can claim that they comfort and solace in another one for the shared pain of heartbreak, then they can say it led them to to eventually having sex and then catching feelings for one another. These would also allow for Cup Cake to kick Carrot Cake out and have Spike move in and the two can now openly love each other while everyone in Ponyville will see them as victims of infidelity.

That's a pretty good summary of this chapter!
Id still say its Mr. Cake's fault for neglecting his wife for so long that she felt like she had to do something about it. If Mr. Cake actually cared about her he would've done more to show that he loved her instead of ignoring or neglecting her need for affection and love. To me this feels justified

Isn’t that what a cheater or enabler would say in reaction to their cheating, rather than the one who gets cheated on? Am I the only one who caught the NTR trope of not seeing the betrayed’s side of this conflict?
I hope this story doesn’t go the typical NTR route. No one likes to be betrayed. No one likes to be abandoned. No one likes to have their family torn apart and no one likes a story where the bad guy wins. And please remember that Spike and Cup Cake are the bad guys in this story. I hope there’s at least some semblance of karma against them before the story’s end…

Uhhhhhh, I like stories where the bad guy wins. It's a lot more creative and interesting than ones that follow the same formula. If you don't like them then your preferences are very understandable, but I have a disclaimer on here that this particular story leans more into the awfulness of cheating. The disclaimer is there for a reason, please don't read if this isn't something you want to read. Find a story you actually like, I promise I won't be offended.
