A certain event bound the destinies of several fillies. However, in this reality, it did so much more. An Equestria where the ponies had a fear of great change had caused their civilization to stagnate in some areas. Fearing what would happen if this continued, the Tree of Harmony sought a way to push equinekind forward again. It found its opportunity in a filly named Rainbow Dash. Through her Sonic Rainboom the Tree empowered it to extend beyond Equus.
Sophia Craft, ruler of the Starcraft Federation, picked up on the energy and decided to investigate. It was there that she found a project for her and her family to work on.
However, the energies of the Rainboom would draw more than Sophia as Equus would soon find itself as a battleground for intergalactic powers that they were woefully unprepared to face.
This story will contain elements of Starcraft but is set far into the future from that timeline where only those from that time who have frozen themselves would be in this story while any others would have long died of old age. Also, while Sophia is anthro normally, she will be in a feral state for the majority of the story so I couldn't say if an anthro tag is necessary. Tags may change or be added as the story progresses.
You do not need to know about Starcraft.
Talandar would still be around since he is a Protoss A.I. if it's far in the future.
A new beginning
Starcraft A.U. neat.
Woah!!?? So like a U.S. President/Commander in Chief in U.S. Military terms? How did that happened?
That was Star Ocean? Did that Universe still get "saved" and restart itself?
I can take a wild guess that Twilight, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash still got their canon cutie marks. So, they're still the ponies we grew to love.
So it's either Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and/or Rarity.
I'm glad Starlight is spared from becoming a nasty villain for a rather stupid reason.
So I'm guess the other Unicorns like Sunset Shimmer, and Tempest Shadow still become baddies?
And "Seekers series"? Never seen that in here?
11883010
I'm glad someone got that reference. No, everything went as canon there its just that the ship was displaced moments before they were to be "deleted".
11883018
Ironically, I ain't a hardcore fan of that game series. I just look it up recently on the ship's name. And read the wiki/reddit on what happened to the series' universe in question.
I was just lucky to quickly research and guess it right.
P.S. I find it weird that after all these years; StarCraft only has Two Main Games, MANY DLC Story Expansion Packs, and a Remastered. But still NO SC 3 to complete the Trilogy?
What's up with that? Warcraft got a Trilogy and the ongoing World of Warcraft Multiplayer PC. And Diablo recently got a 4 Main Game.
At least Homeworld getting a third game.
11883019
All you really need to know is that it was about to be destroyed and Sophia saved it. The ship isn't going to have much bearing on the story though.
11883016
I was referring to my Seekers of the Epitaph stories which are on indefinite hiatus right now.
11883025
Oh, the one with the Warcraft AU. Thanks for correcting.
Will Sarah Kerrigan turn up, she is an immortal goddess basically.
11883112
Afraid not. Only 3 SC characters are going to be in this story and they're all human.
What do you think of my other comments/responses?
11883128
I can't think of many of the main cast that could be around this long. Especially humans who have a habit of dying very easily and having fairly short lives compared to Protoss and highly evolved Zerg as well as Primal Zerg.

1. The rank of Hierarch was used by the Protoss to place them at the top rank of their hierarchy. It pretty much sums up those titles into one word. Like what was said in the chapter, through diplomacy, brute force and guile.
2. Well 2 of those are the ones I was talking about, now you have to find out who was altered slightly and who is going to not pursue their canon career.
3. I'm not much of a fan of Star Ocean myself but I did enjoy playing Till the End of Time at least. I played that one quite a few times when I was younger.
I don't know why Blizz does what they do. Though when you think about it, the three Starcraft 2 campaigns were pretty large by themselves when you consider SC1 had 30 missions and 2 that got left out of the main game(which you could still play through Mass Recall) while Brood War had 26 missions. Wings of Liberty had 29 missions, Heart of the Swarm had 20 missions, Legacy of the Void had about 25 missions if you include the prologue and epilogue missions.
Starcraft reached its intended end with Legacy of the Void. Personally I'd rather it end there on what I hope was a high note than continuing on with a story that had been retconned to hell like Warcraft. I don't know Diablo's story and I never cared about it in the first place. Dark fantasy never appealed to me, I like my fantasies to have a little tech.

A cryo freezer can keep someone preserved for a long time. It certainly worked well for Fry on Futurama. Protoss have a lifespan of about 1000 years and this takes place millennia after SC2. Yes, there are Zerg who could live that long and Kerrigan could still be around but that isn't the focus of this story.
11883345
As long they had a viable reason to be frozen for that long and had some mechanisms to prevent their bodies from atrophying away to nothing. Those mechanism could only cryo someone for so long. It only slows the effect of time, not stops it.
Interesting premise and choice of era in the starcraft timeline. Haven't read the story yet but I am going to hope it gets finished either way.
Way too many StarCraft stories, both good and meh, have never been finished (I may have also contibuted to that statisic as well)
11887386
Yeah, it's sad that so many Starcraft stories get abandoned. It makes me glad to have one of the few completed Starcraft stories on this site. Jest has one they have been working on but that one has been put on a lower queue so I don't expect an update anytime soon, not this year at least. Wanderer D is also working on one but that one updates once in a blue moon.
Huh...story is getting better with each chapter but it all feels like a prolog
They are Xel'Naga... I doubt uplifting would be in their interests
11888070
Sophia's reasons for uplifting the ponies is less for Xel'naga reasons and more that she wants to see a magical culture reach the stars. Her first hurdle will be dealing with a society that is somewhat technophobic. In this story the immortals like Celestia, Luna and Discord aren't Xel'naga but there is a rule that I will mention at a later point in the story.
Make me wonder how a assassin with probably decayed social skills with do in a alien culture.
Shenanigans incoming
Pinkie Pie antics come to mind...
Especially since they will most likely stay away from S.M.I.L.E.
Sophia sure has some fun on the side. The priorities of the guards sure are needing readjustment
Makes me wonder how long until the War is suppose to start once a new.
Would be fun to see Tosh meet himself or Nova herself if it ever come to it.
What fun so far
Thanks for all the chapters. This will be a fun reading experience to galloping along
11888075
OK, that literally changes everything I know from the other story.
Neat.
I know which horse they are renting, Snap Shutter and Mane Allgood's house. I look forward to seeing how Nova and Tosh will affect Ponyville by just living there.
Welp, our Starcraft Characters made some good positive altercations to the MLP timeline by not only saving the parents of Applejack/Big Mac/Apple Bloom.
But where Rarity has a little altered destiny that will ironically help the technological advancements of Equestria to the Stars, nice~~~.
And I was right about Applejack and Rarity.
While Pinkie Pie seems to stay the same.
Interesting, so not just me is going for the Applejack parents are alive route.
What did they even do in the Everfree Forest?
Rarity as something better than a clothing designer would make sense. Unless she branches out?
Instead of fashion primarily, it could be functional:
- Diving suits for water environments
- Tactical clothing for military
- Work safety clothing for farmer and construction ponies
- Chemical and burn resistant clothing for science and research withhin Canterlot.
On occation fashionable not primarily functional clothing for well paying customers.
How are the mane 6 plus Spike are not minor nobility?
-Twilight and Spike, due to them living in Canterlot and connecting to Celestia after her Entry-Exam.
-Rarity, she seem to come from a well of family, unless they are 'do it yourself nobility' due to effort or going for a niche business like high duty functional clothing.
-Pinkie Pie, either mineral mining/farming/growing is very lucrative or in some stories her family are basically oil owners...
-Fluttershy... I got nothing. Unless maybe military animal wrangling and raising?
Or perhaps former military or something?
- Rainbow Dash, family maybe a followers of military traditions and that why many of their family go for the Wonderbolts. Typical military multi generation traditionalist.
-Applejack, in general food production, with the only Zap-Apple production of the nation...
Maybe the Zap Apple that are used in some stories as alchemy or magic increasing ingredients, can be a Vespin substitute?
Would make them indeed a lot more than just 'food farmers'.
Oh wait...is rarity gons build sweetiebot?
11891992
This is ridiculous, though it would be priceless if Sweety Belle get a robot sister with the name 'Sweety Bot' that way.
11891984
You made some good points about the Mane Six's and Spike's own questionable "minor nobility", considering there are also Heroes of Equestria as well later on.
And how would they be efficient if they have military roles for Sophia?
11892224
Actually I never see it logical they they didn't receive military baseline training. Especially Fluttershy and a Pinkie Pie, because the red dragon incident alone is a good point why common sense or at least decent enough survival instinctual behavior would be needed for them.
There is a great story I can recommend about Princess Cadance being replaced by a human, when the original Cadance died due to brain damage after
'a incident'.
Great read, where for once Cadance is not just a main character, but more than a footnote to the main story time-line.

11892045
I mean....it's the only character that's popular on here that I know of that's a robot and in the Canon of most stories with sweetie bot rarity either never actually had a younger sister or sweetie bell died or got VERY injured and rarity had to rebuild her...from what I remember ayway...been a few years since I saw a story that used sweetiebot outside of the whole multiverse explorers story
11892373
One more reason to stand out, building Sweety Belle a playmate
11892437
11892373
There is one story I know that involves the injury route as well as the companion route for Sweetie at the same time.

That looks wild
I put it in my read later folder, thanks.

Yeah...I'm with him.
I will go read that later....got about 30 story updates on stories I follow to read through today.
