What looked like a new year of fun quickly turned into a nightmare once a mysterious man came into town. A man with dark and sinister motives. Following his arrival, students in Canterlot High began to die at his hands in strange and quite frankly, impossible ways.
Sunset wasn't going to let this serial killer have his way; quickly trying to form a plan to stop him.
What she doesn't know is that this murderer is actually hunting her down! And worst of all, this entire killing spree would result in a truly awful secret of her coming to light.
A secret she wishes would stay forever lost to time.

I'd say she'd know a thing or two about the rather bizarre things happening around. Secondly, the killer is only really after Sunset. His other kills are purely to send a message, though what he's trying to say remains to be seen. Lastly, I don't really want the Main 7 to be constantly together in every single scene. By separating them into just two of them, I can have more unique interractions between these characters. It's also because I want to give all of the Main 7 some attention instead of leaving some of them out, which can be easy to accidentally do when you have 7 different characters all present in the same scene.

Yeah, you're right about the butterfly knife. I just shortened it to butter knife since some people do that, (mainly since I've been playing a lot of TF2 recently) but I see that it can cause some confusion, so I'm going to fix it quickly. The magic pretty much changes all the time just so it can fir the narrative for the movies; they wanted to make a musical? There, magic comes from music only, until it's no longer a musical, at which point the rules changes entirely. As for the strange third party involved with the killer, there is a good reason why his dialogue is the only one to have its own colour.

And about Trixie... I find it weird how she actually does a some form of magic in Equestria Girl, but everybody seems to just brush it off. I'm mainly referring to that one short where she offers a magical lucky sock to Rainbow Dash that allowed her to win the game for her team. Therefore, I decided why not actually give her some amount of magic, as undefined as it may be?
As for what Trixie was implying... Just think about it for a second; a teenage girl in a dark alley with a fully grown man twice her size... Yeah, it's quite easy to figure out what she was thinking and that's kinda why I didn't say it clearly (I DO have a limit as to how far I'll go).
