Human Twilight finds herself whisked away to an endless train traveling through a wasteland, with its own worlds in each car. A glowing number on her hand indicates the way home is just within grasp. After unexpected help from a friend, or rather her pony version, she learns she may be further from home than she thought.
Setting-based crossover with Infinity Train, circa start of season 2. No characters from Infinity Train appear, though one is alluded to. Infinity Train familiarity not required.

Yeah, you can see it like that. I was even considering labeling this story as such, but I figured people here were used to waiting a long time for updates :P

I've had dreams a bit like this.
Admittedly, it's somewhat difficult to tell where things are going at this point in the story. So many story points could be metaphoric, or foreshadowing, or all kinds of things. Hard to say when reality seems to be a bit slippery. For instance, the shadow-thing could have been a metaphor for Twilight's death - after all, the closer she got to it, the more her number was up.
Not familiar with the crossover property, but it's pretty easy to grasp. It's a neat setting!
I like the Human Twilight/Pony Rarity duality here. They've both met a familiar face--but not quite. They have the rough outline of each other's personality, and have clearly met and spent time together before this. But there's the danger that each will treat the other like their dimensional counterpart, rather than who they truly are. That's a fun bit of tension!
