You know, it's a shame you missed the deadline.. Probably means the story will be DQ'd. And this is a shame because this was a good story. Not just good clop, but an interesting and well told story to go with it.
Sure, this is well trodden grounds at this point, what with nothing new being under the sun. I've seen stories like this, of course. But what really helps you out is the excellent attention to a consistent characterization(greatly aided by the fixed Celestia PoV). You managed to really capture the sense of hopeless, empty searching for fulfillment that Celestia feels every night.
Normally I prefer when an incest fic explores the newness of the taboo relationship, as well as its 'wrongness'. You get none of that here, really. Thankfully this is made up for by instead focusing on the sense of completion and belonging that Luna provides for Tia. Luna does for Celestia what she truly needs because she's her sister. So in that way, it succeeds.

I'll be honest, this wasn't at all the story I was thinking of writing. I was gonna go the even more conventional route of Celestia/Luna stories, maybe throw in some dream stuff and run with that.
But it took a turn within a few paragraphs, and I think it turned out better than it would have otherwise. And I did consider a broader viewpoint, but it never felt like the right time to shift, and overall it probably turned out better because of that.
I do find it interesting that this story got the lower rating and view count of the two, wheras if I'd published on my main account instead of my clop account, I think that would have been reversed.

It's interesting you point that out about the popularity. I, too, would say I preferred 'Donkey Show' over this. Partly that could be that after reading dozens of other princest fics of questionable quality for the contest I've become a jaded, bitter husk of my former self. But I really did feel like 'Donkey Show' was something new and different and unique.
Sure, the stakes are lower in it compared to this one, but as I mentioned in my first comment this story does tread well-trodden ground. Grounds which have long ago been paved over and smoothed out, making way for a high speed super highway of sameness. It's a good thing you're a competent writer or this entry would've got lost in the shuffle.
But 'Donky Show'? I've never read that story. That was my first time reading it in every sense.
But while I was won over by the novelty(and quality) of Donkey Show, your fan base may just like what they like.
The fact there's a bazillion other princest fics flooding the site at the moment probably doesn't help either.
The Molestia Era was the best era.
