D'aww! I've been waiting to catch up on this series. It certainly was more than worth the wait, too. :)

I like how you are portraying Silver Stream. I could genuinely hear her voice during a number of her interactions with Smolder. She definitely would be the most epic caretaker / mother. Her personality would make her so much fun while her desire to be learn and be good at what she is doing would make her serious, too.

Perhaps Pinkie could learn a thing, or two, from observing Silver Stream when the hippogriff goes out on another of her non-Smolder babysitting adventures?

The pacing of this caretaker and hatchling relationship is great, too. Smolder would certainly not ever want to let herself give into non-dragon things so quickly. She may have enjoyed the tea party and been tempted to try padding in the first time with Silver Stream. However she'd definitely have a guard up.

This chapter is a great moment where we see the guard drop. Smolder is seeing she can be what she wants to be without worry of being judged for not 'Being like other dragons'. On the other claw, Silver Stream is just all head-over-heels for how she can have such a special bond with her friend. Silver Stream really loves when nice things happen and she can be a part of them. this is certainly a nice thing and, possibly, a sign of how her future may turn out?

Silver Stream, compared to Sky Star, seems more likely to have a family that is well-balanced. To me, Sky Star seems too much like Pinkie and, well, I don't know how Pinkie would do as a full-time parent. Silver Stream could do it, though. :)
