The longer you stare at my profile picture the worse it gets.

A half rushed story based on an idea by Whiskeylullaby.

Twilight goes to Manehatten for some research and bumps into an old acquaintance. A human who has the near powers of a god and does nothing with them.

Philosophy tag as well I suppose.

it kind of drove right in no build up just hacked right into the plot and got to the end quick short

Hmm. I do have to wonder why he'd allow the knowledge of his powers to continue to exist. He's not going to use them, so why have ponies (and/or other creatures) know about them? Pretty much every outcome of somepony knowing about his powers is going to be either neutral or negative in some way. Imagine if everypony knew that Discord hung out at a particular bar (and didn't have a history of being a bad guy or the kind of being who would rearrange your anatomy because it was funny). What would they do?

I think it would of been better if he gave twilight a week with his power so she knows what he has to put up with

She couldn't remember him ever ordering a drink while they were together.

He literally said he uses his powers to get infinite beer and bacon twilight :facehoof:

Well they actually explained why he doesn't do that in the story

What is the point of life if you don't face adversity?

He never would grant any wishes, not even his own

Not even to be left alone and live a simple life.

I interpreted the "even to be left alone" to apply to situations where beings still knew what he was capable of, but he used his powers to either avoid them or make it difficult/impossible for them to approach him. Addressing the 'being left alone' aspect directly, rather than the indirect approach of knowledge removal (which would only have the left-alone aspect as a side-effect).
