Anyways, Sequel Prequels are usually movies that are released after the original story, and it usually takes place before the origional one. For example the original Star Wars Trilogy had the Prequel Trilogy released after them, making them a sequel in a sense where they were released after the original, but also as a prequel in a canon sense as they took place before the orginial.

Because the creator orginally wanted only one. Then, the original became so sucessful so to ensure more people watch, they create more backstories to lay the groundwork for more stories
