All these moments will be lost, like tears in the rain.

This story is a sequel to Fairlight - Memories of a perfect sky

You never know what you have until it's gone, they say. A warm fire and the love of a mare with your foal by your side? It had always been the happiest of dreams, but the reality has become quite, quite different. Friends and family - all gone now. Only the emptiness and bitter chill of the northern winters blow through the silent valley where once the heart beat strong and proud. Nothing remains. Only revenge.

It's a picture I found on the net of a thestral. I haven't been able to find an artist to draw one for me just the way I imagine them yet, but one day I hope to.

I read somewhere above 1000 wpm, so seeing someone pump out a few hundred k words in a month is just the best.

Thanks! I'll pop a reference to the artist in the description when I get min.

I'm glad you're enjoying the story!

I figured the suits and gear were a reference to Men In Black. Nice.

This story should be called Fairlight gets all the mares:rainbowlaugh:

Ah, you must've split the start into parts with the rewrite. I don't recall how much is left, but I distinctly remember it being revealed what "Breeze" was made from on the other side.

I decided to move away from the 'lots of short chapters' theme of the earlier stories. I think this makes them flow a lot better and removes that jarring scene-change aspect that some readers didn't like. Hopefully it works okay.
