Interesting story, though while we haven't seen any visual confirmation, there does seem to be something that suggests Equestria has indoor plumbing, and that includes toilets.

Actually, we've had some pretty clear visual confirmation on several occasions in regards to them having indoor plumbing.
We see indoor sinks in houses and hospitals. We see bathtubs with faucets in an episode or two, including one where the faucet is broken and we can see the plumbing in action. We see a western-style toilet and some pipes during Discord's song. We see a water main break when Spike orders them to put off repairing it to avoid interrupting Twilight's nap. We see them make use of both indoor plumbing for a washing machine/steam room and outdoor plumbing for farming when Applejack tries (and fails) to take a day off.
While something like the toilet (from Discord's song in Three's a Crowd) could probably be brushed off as a gag given the context, it's pretty safe to say Equestria's technology does include indoor plumbing.

As a slice of life story, this was interesting.
