Also, from an earlier post:
Tarnish is not alone in his condition. If she wanted to, she could manifest through any of her conduits.
Microburst = Pale releasing the place from his grip?
7994292
No. Just bad weather.
If Pale had released it from his grip, don't you think Tarnish would have been able to project himself and reach Celestia?
7994295 Herp, of course, this is what happens when I read right after I wake up.
Question, do I have to read the prequels to understand this?
7994363
It would help, considerably. You might be able to understand what is going on if you ask for help in the comment section and other readers lay out the extensive framework.
7994037
Well, that's good to know, at least. I can't quite recall how a chaos vortex bonded him with some kind of earth goddess, but I'm guessing it had something to do with the orb. Either way, I can roll with it.
Geez, though. It really does feel like Tarnish is just life's puppet sometimes. I feel overcome with a desire to see him return to his family and the life he carved out for himself. But of course, I'm going to have to wait 'til the end for that, aren't I? Oh well. I came into this story expecting it to be unpleasant in some regards, and here we are.
7994398
He smashed the Grogar's crown and the Centaur orb and in the process that released lots of power and chaos and it had to go somewhere and that's where Maud came in, that power needed to be used in an act of creation for reasons! (*), so Tarnish and Maud created!
(Kudzu, I'm going off distant memory here, please don't kill me for getting it horribly wrong!)
(*) I can't remember everything!
7994407
That part I remember. It's just where the earth god comes in that I'm a little fuzzy on.
7994409
From VI, chapter 79:
And this:
That covers the destruction of the crown. But it doesn't cover Tarnish becoming nature's chew toy. I'm now thinking that when he earned the title of 'Heliophant' might had something to do with Terra Firma taking a shine to him. I'll have to dig on that.
7994409
I think this was it, from VI, Chapter 44. Tarnish and Maud were already 'special' and I think because Tarnish has been doing the 'druid' thing, TF has taken more personal interest in him.
7994446
I'm not sure I completely get the Terra Firma part, but this helps quite a bit. I'm sure there are other readers who wouldn't mind the recap themselves, so thanks for that.
Like I've told Kudzu, I've been paying more attention to the characters than the nuts-and-bolts of how any of this works. But I think I'll approach this the same way I do Kingdom Hearts. As long as it makes just enough sense for me to get by, then I'm cool with it.
7994370 Alright, thank you!
The explosions are the trees. The tree sap is freezing, rapidly expanding, and exploding the trees.
7994495
Beat me to it.
From Wikipedia
So here's another question. Are the likes of Pale, Terra Firma, and what-not magic-based? What would happen if they came around nullwood? Or is that a surprisingly complicated question with a surprisingly complicated answer?
7994673
What happened when Tarnish was exposed to nullwood? Did you pay attention?
7994518
7994495
7994446
7994464 I may be completely off the mark and this is only conjecture, Kudz will probably tell me off for not thinking clearly, but... I think Tarn has always had a connection to Terra from birth, after all what do we really know about his father, the hippy pony. Certainly don't think it came from Pinny. He's always had some powers that needed Poison joke to even out the effect of. Creating a volcano is a definite Terra Firma result that could be attributed to such a connection too. It's started off weakly and has been growing ever since, thus the additional changes to his cutie mark, otherwise I can't remember one specific event that could signify Terra's involvement in a later on context. But like I said most likely totally wrong.
7995000 Feels like when the extreme cold descended the mega storms in 'The Day After Tomorrow' movie, the start of a new ice age.

7991853 Terra Firma got inside Tarnish. That can be as wrong as you make it
7995542
She's inside all of the druids, giving them her magic.
Which means she is inside Maud too.
So, is it masturbation when Tarnish slips Maud the pony making bone?
You've got a good handle on the extreme cold, and I should know. Did you know that at 70 farenheits below, you can make a pre stalagmite?
7995551 I'd rather call it self-polination(Google tells me this is the correct english term). That would then quite literaly make Pebble an actual seed. The seed of Terra Firma in pony form. Sumac has no idea what he is in for
For the title, and the snowponies, all I can say is:

8004750 So perfect, because you just KNOW that Octavia would NOT approve of Vinyl's shenanigans!!

It's a very good idea to read the prequels and maybe take some notes. Also, the prequels are really well done, and I would recommend reading them anyway.
