I can only imagine what would happen if his augmented strength kicks in during his fight with Big Macintosh.
You make me happy when you update
Keep up the good work
Aww shit he's gonna tear Big Mac a new one with all this solar energy, isn't he?
“I know you like putting chips on your sandwiches lately…” Awwww hellz yeah!!!
Hunh... so Spartan may be a desce- Uh oh...
Um, why do I smell innate magical shenanigans coming their way with the wrestling?
861166
*le gasp*
This might be why BigMac was injured during the episode where AJ has to handle Applebucking alone!
So he will propably lose at first, then his stubbornness kicks in and then he throws BigMac through the front of a building.
Awesome.
Oh and a fantastic chapter right here. Cute humour (still love the word "adorkable"), interesting characterization and a coole "sidestory" with Daring! Can't wait for more!
Marriage customs of Spartans involved picking up of a girl and carring her to your house over your shoulder. It only succeeded 50% of the time since the women were taught how to defend themselves as well. If you got her through your doorway she was yours, if not you might get some crushed balls or worse!
I'm thinking(an I was thinking this before and now I'm even more sure) that the solar magic is coming from/some how tied to his armour. Like, the armour was imbued with magic to make him stronger in battle.
Why would being in armour make SS give off his energy? It can't be that he's using it to lift his armor, can it? As a soldier, he should be perfectly use to that and not require aid. Perhaps he's not bleeding it off while he's charging, and he gives it off because he isn't. That might explain why he's so strong. But why didn't Celestia notice it 1000 years ago?
Also, I am unfortunately predicting that he'll kick the shit out of Big Mac, and will have to use the donations to pay for the hospital stay.
The reactions the mares had to the Spartan's nudity were priceless
Augmentations eh? I never asked for this...
Another great chapter cant wait to read the wrestling and to find out who wins.
And then Spartan bucks Big Mac into next week
Every update to this is so much fun.
Yay! A wrestling match! I think I can properly visualie that with enough effort.
861244 Perhaps him lighting on fire? The sun is the basis of most fire and light magic. The moon is dark magic and water. And air and earth are connected to both because they are strongest during the equinoxes.
In the time of Ancient Greece wrestling was a lot more brutal than it is today. Strangling, eye gouging, biting, sharp blows to the vitals it was all allowed and one or even both of the combatants dying while not common wasn't exactly rare either. While Spartan Shield considers Big Mac a friend many athletes and warriors have a code of "It's disrespectful to my opponent not to fight with everything I have" and might consider it insulting to Big Mac to not go all out. Still Spartan Shield is starting to get a hang of these more peaceful times and probably realizes such brutality wouldn't go over with the ponies he's trying to earn money from. Probably...
Something's about to go terribly wrong I think...
I think Spartan is gonna accidentally hurt Spike (Or worse; kill him ) and Ponyville will get mad at him for it. Luna saying "He seems to be getting along just fine" or something like that was probably foreshadowing
Hrm. Well that is interesting. Solar Ponies? I wonder if there were Lunar Ponies, too. Huh. Food for thought, eh?
Oh, and this would have been here sooner, but I was outside spray painting old cars in various Brony things, including my screen name, 20% cooler, Brony wuz here, and P0n3 (Twice) as well as a few other things. Oh, and I got RD's cutie mark, then I ran outa time. I didn't write Vivas Noctus, because, well, that's against the rules, isn't it? Don't write it down? Correct me if I'm wrong. Regardless of my legalized graffiti, this was a good chapter, and you're getting a lot more out of this story than I would have thought possible.
-Vivas Noctus!
I'd say its his armor and they just figured it stopped once he took it off. I don't think its him bleeding it off either, probably just his armor while he wears it making it look like he's doing it. It could actually be him though, have to wait and see
Why do I get the feeling Big Mac's in for a bigger fight than either he or Spartan Shield could have ever of thought?

It was 4 AM when I made that comment. I honestly have no idea what the hell I was thinking at the time.
If it bothers you that much, I'll delete the "nitpicking jerkwad" comment.
SH*T JUST GOT REAL.
1. Epic.
2. I absolutely HATE this new mobile theme for the site.
Haha, look at the mares drooling over that eye candy!
To quote RvB's Tucker: BOW CHICKA BOW WOW!
Poor Big Mac.
Now I'm sad, I just read the whole thing, and now I have to wait for an update
863214 Welcome to my herd.
863220 I REGRET NOTHING!!
So, is anypony going to tell Daring Do that her greatest archeological find was not a statue, but a pony turned to stone? Because it seems like something she should know.
863322
Her bit was 12 years ago. For all we know she's in darkest Zafrica, right now.
Ok, the historical flashback continues with Daring and True performing the detail cleaning of their major find from the dig site. I like the comments they are making as they go through the cleaning. In a way, it's too bad that they never considered having a unicorn scan the statue, I would imagine that would have shown them something truly interesting. Still, I would imagine that if Spartan had any idea just how closely he was examined while Daring was preparing him for exhibit, he would be curled up in Twilight's closet for the next twelve years.
Now, moving on to the present day portion, I liked the encounter Twilight had with Spartan coming out of the bathroom. She's been obsessing over Spartan dating procedures (not that she will find any, if I remember correctly, it was sort of a catch as catch can deal between the men and the women, though I would imagine that if a particular woman happened to like a given man, she didn't fight too hard when he picked her up and carried her to his home.) I see that Spartan's just gotten a warning that meshes with part of his oracle, we'll have to see how that plays out when it comes down to the match. Actually, for that matter, I hope that now that he has Spike as his coach and with that part of his oracle in play, he'll think to ask what the current competition standards are for athletic events are in present day. I suspect that what he considers acceptable wresting moves won't match up with what Big Mac's expecting to see.
I think that he's managed to impress Twilight with his planning for the exhibition match, which is a good point. I note that she's still plenty nervous around Spartan, what with the tail clamping and all. Personally, I think that his realization that the rest of his gear is probably as valuable a trade commodity as his coin purse's contents was a good bit of planning and insight. And you slipped in so many little jokes it was just a pleasure to read them all. (Rainbow Dash and her interest in the Spartan helmet, sheesh.) I see that Spartan's definitely attracting attention when he's out displaying to encourage public attendance at the match. (I see that he's an equal-opportunity attractant, judging from the looks. I would imagine that he'll be figuring in a number of fantasies the next few nights.)
Finally, I see that you're finally giving us an explanation for just why Spartan's been calling Twilight a solar mage all this time. So, there actually were solar ponies at one point in the past, eh? I expect that they were a particular target of Nightmare Moon's forces, hence the reason that they aren't something well known in present-day Equestria? (Probably not something that Celestia's likely to mention to Luna if that's the case. Her little sister doesn't need another point to brood about.) And that gives us another point on his oracle, though it will be interesting to see how that part makes itself apparent to Spartan. It should be an excellent read.
863645 I reject your reality and substitute my own!
Gee, talk about Eye Candy!
...
Okay, now for the seriousness, or wahtever of it is left in me. I read all the chapters in last hours and my body craves for more, I feel that my moustache grew stronger just by reading this fic, as it is awesome and manly, my friend. I hope you will keep your abilities of fast updating for-ever.
862031 Because Hexagons.
"The Spartan Stallion had arrived in a magnificent open warehouse". So you had him shipped inside a magnificent warehouse? Could have sworn he would have arrived at a magnificent open warehouse, but however Daring Do wishes to ship him is her business.
"but magic like this was not bound to simply stop on its own." Spelling error.
/sigh Only 2 this time.........BUTT the grammar Nazi strikes again! (lulz, I said butt) MUAHAHAHAHAHAH!
864008 *flicks his little marble away*
> Violence begets violence
Of course. BM and SS brawled in the street. Because of that, SS decided to have a wrestling match. For charity! Violence begat violence.
That's the problem with oracles. Always so vague and open to interpretation.

865268 ye gods... that profile pic has got to be one of the most adorable FS pics. I have ever seen!
moving on. I predict Luna is going to "scry" SS just as he knocks BM for a loop for "no apparent reason" and then.... shenanigans.
MOOAAAAARRR!!!
861244
[As mordici and rigby] OHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
861238
I don't get it.
868440
I do the same thing!
861238
I do that too!
869263
Hell yeah! Brohoof! /)
So...if, like people are saying, his armor is where the magic is coming from...and he just gave a piece to RD....is she magical too?! This is brilliant, thanks
Uh oh, I'm hoping that the princesses are wrong and it was Spartan's armor bleeding the magic. Or else Spartans gonna be super charged for the match and Big Macintosh will get really badly hurt.
HEY! Don't insult Derpy.....even if what you spoke of was true...on to the next chapter now.
