Twilight was able to develop technology that allowed her and her friends to remain in safe tempuatures while working to end the intense heat, but she didn't have enough resources to use it for the civilians. When Starlight woke up from her freezing, Twilight needed her to find the chamber where Twilight slept. But Pinkie had turned evil, this was why Twilight had to put herself to cryogenic freezing. Pinkamena was also looking for Twilight, to kill her. Twilight sending Trixie to put Pinkamena down was the last thing Twilight did before freezing herself, Trixie failed against Pinkamena. Twilight trusted that Trixie would win too much for her to be aware of Pinkamena's search for her. When Starlight is to discover all this, she would find Twilight's location. Twilight will then revive Trixie, but not before giving Starlight a robe and mask. The robe, called "Mortem's Cape", would grant Starlight full immunity to the dangers of the sun. The mask, called "Mortem's Shield", would have the DNA of an Ozie in it, constantly healing all of Starlight's wounds and making all of her body parts impossible to cripple.

There is a depiction of cutting down Griffons like Battle Droids with a moderately vague depiction of what remains of them. And the third chapter's namesake regenerates all wounds if it isn't killed bloodlessly.
