Mmm. Cyberpunk. This idea has a ton of promise, all though it seems a bit telly, and I can probably nitpick your technical parts.
For an example, encryption seems to be mixed up with security a lot(all though you could explain it with maybe injecting something into the chip's internet connection), Network seems oddly centralized for a hacker's network(password, data can be easily deleted) and how come the main character's laptop requires a connection to it before the GUI is up(I understand the need to get tools from the Network, but why not store common stuff on the local machine), etc.
Also, the coffee scene. Covering the death up with the coffee is a good idea, but where did the other pony get the poison from? Furthermore, how would a chip even be able to make someone put something in coffee unless they already decided on doing so - the process of putting poison in someone's coffee is complex at almost every level, motor overrides aren't subtle, conscious processes are really distributed and poorly understood(they can be monitored, but altering is difficult), where is the chip even operating in(pumping neurochemicals into the cerebospinal fluid, stimulating certain control neurons, etc).

The answer is science.
Otherwise known as magic.
it's far more accessible if I don't get too technical.
And....
it's about to get confusing very fast, supposing I continue writing this

All right, that's reasonable, after all, not everypony has a double major in CS and Neurobiology(I know I don't).

You have no idea how confusing I'm going to make this.
