God dammit wubs, i came for clop, but i got blindsided by feels! this is really good! but for some reason, i cant thumb the story up...

I'm not sure how much I understand here. so celestia's only viable option to keep the sun going and equstria alive is to build up twilight to be the steward/controller of the celestial objects after she and Luna are dead? Is she only capable of changing things when they are in flux or blurred on the screens? Does anyone else's choices matter except during those fuzzy areas where celestial can't just look ahead and plan accordingly?

It's A rather bittersweet end. Thousand of year shepparding an entire species, her own celestial body and for 1000 the moon as well and her reward is another job to set upo twilight and a happy relationship with discord till her apparently soon to occur death.

I, it baffles me. Why? I mean I can see that she succeded in her overall goal but it feels like she still lost.

At first I was really impressed by the writing in this... but stories in which Discord completely transforms into someone else, particularly into a pony, really rub me the wrong way. It's wiping out his individuality and what makes him special and unique. Implying that this is a natural outcome of growing up is really depressing. I was also really weirded out by how quickly they proceeded to sex; if Discord is this innocent of sexuality, then jumping to sex within a day of him finding out about it and thinking he might be interested in it feels like Celestia is taking advantage of a very young teenager. Obviously in terms of his actual age Discord's probably older than she is, but part of the whole point to the story is how wise and motherly she is and how childish he is, and rushing into sex in such a situation feels like something Celestia wouldn't do.

So I'm not gonna give you a downvote for it, because I really like the writing and the whole scene with Fluttershy challenging Discord to make friends and giving him the silent treatment was heartbreaking. But because of the Discord-turns-into-a-pony and the skeeviness of the rushing into sex, I can't give you an upvote either.

6378054 I was certainly attached to the characters by the end. I think you nailed it in transfering what they were like, through Discords is an interesting take on his character. Fluttershy is reminicesnt of when she was talking to RD about tank.

It strikes me strange that I didnt see this set up a mile away given the Tags. This story earned them for me.

I want back all the time I wasted reading this story. Wanted to get people emotionally attached? That was the farthest thing in my mind. I hated every character. Don't even understand why this was rated M and tagged with sex since it doesn't have either.

That came completely out of nowhere, and honestly I think that's what makes this chapter so weak. There really was no building up to this chapter, and then we get hit with the whammy of pre-determinism that means Celestia has to die soon no matter what and Twilight continues her Canon Sue status except even more so in being the only thing that allows the future to exist. Discord's turning into a pony permanently, and even his name change really annoys me, given Celestia's whole comment a chapter ago about chaos and order together making Equestria. It feels like his personality's been basically bleached and turned into a bland tragic figure.
