A parody of a genre of fanfiction that we oh so love and hate. This was done out of pure enjoyment, not spite. Except for one particular fanfic that I shall not name ever. Flyingspud does know so ask him about it.
Remember: I don't hate the Self Insert genre. I have read some self inserts that I enjoyed very much. I just really hate the bad ones. Those are like the worst things I have ever read in fanfiction. I can name a few but that's a different story for a different day.
Contains just about every character I care about but I can't just put all their character tags. That would just be silly and against the rules.

I can go on about why Shipping is the worst thing for hours upon hours because I also find Shipping to be the worst thing ever. I was tempted to write a parody of shipping but I couldn't even live with my self when I tried. With HiE fics you can never know what will happen next but with shipping you always know what will happen and how it will end because it's so predictable.
And don't even get me started about self insert shipping (this will happen in the story but you'll have to wait and see).

It`s when you take yourself, make it a character, and force it into a story and pretend how you would act like in that universe, in this case it would be MLP FIM. Usually people lie about themselves and act like a completely different person and claim that this is the way the characters would react and interact with him or her. Also shipping yourself ensues. It`s pretty much the worst thing ever.

You think that the community as a whole would care if it was a 7th element story. The 7th element was approved by the community and that`s the pinnacle of horrible fanfiction. So I think your story will not be hated.

It'd be worse if I wrote one. If any pony attacked me I'd problem kill them by honed reflex. Then I'd have to kill the entire cast to protect myself, then xenocide all the ponies (again to protect myself from their torches and pitch forks they attack me with in response to the previous killing). Then I'd have to burn my way through everfree forest (to spread airborne poison joke on the predators who think puny humans are weak). Massacre my way through the remains to teach the predators and monsters to stay the hell away from humans. Then eat them and make my home in Everfree Castle.
So, yeah...that'd be a shitty fic because everyone dies. In fact, my response (and the realistic response for humans, considering our violence and instincts) to most HiE fics with the protagonist being attacked by ponies or thrown in a dungeon or something would be violent.
Lets face it. A lot of authors make the human act either submissive or apologetic (for something he had nothing to do with in the first place, no less). They'll have him being understanding of suddenly being attacked and laugh it off (if an alien tried to kill you would you laugh or kill it first). They'll have him accept being bound or incarcerated without a fight (or an extremely unintelligent fight that amounts to the human flailing randomly like a beached fish).
Humans have:
A) Naturally advanced combat instincts. Brawls don't count because they are basically intended to be chest-beating. In actual fights most humans instinctively fight intelligently.
B) We know how to build very dangerous tools. The best part? Most people now know (thanks to the internet) how to make, or the general idea of, various weapons, tools, survival methods, etc.
C) The Everfree Forest is basically a fun camping trip compared to Earth. Fauna that is about the size (and form) of a lion yet stupidly hunts individually instead of in packs and likes to warn you of it's presence before charging head-first instead of ambushing? Yeah...oooo, scaaary. Gee, what could I possibly do with this long, sharpened stake I shoved into the ground at an angle and braced with my hands.
D) I have too much to add so D is "everything else".

Well, good shipping is entertaining because, while you know how it will end, you don't know how it gets to that ending and the journey to it is fun.
Unfortunately, most authors who write ships don't seem to realize that the point of a ship fic is to write an entertaining journey to engage the audience. It has no real climax so it must be formed from intelligent manipulation of what the audience does and does not know. Basically, a good ship fic must be witty or it will fail.
