Fantastic story, author! Plenty of giggles, very cute, and as it should be for playground shipping, the romance was just beneath the surface. No huge revelations, no dramatic reveals or cheesy speeches, just a blush or two, and a hint that there may be something there... someday.

I liked this. I liked this a lot. It was hilarious in Snips and Snails's usual way when they bounce off of each other. It was adorable in that it highlighted how great a best friend can be, especially when he's your only friend. I'm not gonna chime in on whether or not there was any actual shipping going on, because you were quite ambivalent about that here, but rightfully so, I thought. After all, these are two foals, and given Snips and Snails usual level of intelligence, or lack thereof, I'm pretty sure they're oblivious about most things actually romantic (and probably will be for a long time
). I will say that I don't like that most commentors seem to be assuming that these two got shipped (that might have to do with the 'Romance' tag on the story), not because of the general concept, but because I think it sells this story short and does discredit to what you were doing here. You quite thoughtfully identified that Hearts and Hooves Day is about being with the pony you love, and love comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Snips and Snails happen to be the only two ponies who can stand each other's company, but they don't just stand each other, they're always there for each other through thick and thin. I think that most people at some point had a best friend like that. I know I did, and you never forget those friendships, and always hope that another comes along the way, even though it'll never be quite as natural as those from your childhood. Thanks for showing some love to these two; I hate that they frequently round out the top of the list for people's least liked characters of the show. They're a terribly underrated comedic pair, and from a guy who writes about background characters myself, let me tell you that I appreciated this fic a lot. yeah, I wanted to keep the shipping sorta ambiguous (I wish it let me put "comedy" above "romance" in the tags, but I thought it best to cover all bases 
) but I'm really glad the friendship part came through! Yeah, exactly, I hope the fic made it clear how clueless these two are about romance, and it's gonna be a while before they're ready for it, with each other or anypony else X3 but as you said, love comes in all forms, and I'm glad it came across that they do love each other in their own way (whether there may possibly be something else there in the future or not) ^_^ thank you!!
