And now we've finally learned the true value of each other's company as we face the possibility eternal death as we search for the Firebird in Equestria. But, when things change from bad to worse, the entire state of Equestria starts to crumble.

Good story, but it seems to me you could have done more with it, plot-wise that is. (Also kind of confusing you didn't classify your guardians as ponies until later, but that didn't take away too much from the enjoyment all that much.) Looking forward to more, if there is any.
