DHL is based in Europe. They don't fly 737s to Detroit. The only 737s they have are -200SF models that can't fly farther than about 3500 KM and stay in Europe. Their flights in the US are either international or chartered through ABX Air, which only flies 767s and used to fly DC-8s.

327806 I'm an airplane nut. I'm picky about these things. You might want to change the operator to FedEx, which has a much greater presence in the US, as well as smaller planes like the 727-100F, 727-200F, ATR 42F, ATR 72F, and 757-200F that fly domestic routes and can be used for this story more easily. A 767-200SF or -300F crash-landing in Equestria would flatten half of Ponyville.

I meant for the Wonder Bolts to stop the plane by flying in to the nose, which I presume would cause the engines to blow, correct me if I'm wrong, and then Twilight, atop sugar cube corner, would use her magic to safely set the craft down in a field just out of town.

327931 Them flying into the engines would do that, but the engines are on the wings, not in the nose. Also, she struggled to lift an Ursa Minor with her magic, so I doubt she'd have a very easy time picking up a jet about 15 times the size of that.
327958 The civil version(L-100) is in very limited use, and I can only think of one carrier that does use it, that being a charter carrier in northern Canada, so probably not unless you intended to use the regular military C-130.

329260 My explanation for Matt's powers is that he was struck by lightning one day while standing next to a high voltage transformer outside of a car factory. Apparently, a pipe carrying fluids over the transformer had cracked due to the wind of the thunderstorm, and leaked on to the transformer. All I can tell you about the liquid was it was acidic. Not acidic enough to melt the pipe, but acidic enough to get through the transformer's plating, where it was then inside the main components. It was then Matt was struck by the lightning as he was walking by the transformer.

327786 Okay, I've been thinking about making this comment, and I decided not to. But now, I think I should.
They way I was saying the engines would blow from the plane stopping so fast is, *deep breath* the air resistance of the blades in the engine moving at a fast enough speed to propel the aircraft at 500 knots while the aircraft being still would cause the blades to snap and be sucked into the engines, which would thus cause them to blow. Does that make sense?

333880 There have been plenty of cases where a plane had a sudden stop that didn't destroy the engines. For example, the Etihad A340-600 that crashed during an engine runup test had almost no damage to the engines after the crash.
