This was written before the season 4 premiere and as such the events of season 4 and season 5 have not happened and this is an alternate story line.

2709604 Well Trixie already tried revenge, so I thought it would be out of place for Trixie in this story. It's already a bit of a stretch to say that reformed Discord isn't really reformed, and he was just putting on an act to gain Clestia's trust and get her guard down. Discord said himself that he thinks Celestia isn't completely convinced, and she's a bit suspicious. It's already a bit of a stretch to have that. I didn't want to bring Trixie in too.

I'll have to be honest, I don't exactly like.it. Don't get me wrong, it is pretty interesting. However, unless you are going to build a back-story about why discord has become "evil" (especially after the events of that season 3 episode), then the rest of the fanfic won't make sense.
This has potential, however, it seems to portray Discord as "evil" and it would be another one of "those" fics.

There is still quite a few fanfics that do the whole "Discord was acting reformation" act, this would have to be pretty impressive for this fanfic to work.
However, at this point in the story, I don't think that right now would be the best time to introduce the "in-between" bit.

2714721 I haven't seen any fics about Discord only acting evil, so when I did it, I didn't think it was already done to death. In fact, I got the idea for a fic after seeing a PMV of the song "Are You In or Out" from Aladdin and the King of Thieves.
It seemed like a great idea, so I decided I'd write about it. But I get what you're saying, and it's a bit hard to believe that his tears and heartbreak over losing the only friend he's ever had was all an act, and I have a good idea of how I can make it more believable next chapter. I don't feel like changing this chapter. It's already great, if I do say so myself.

3526099 Well, all I had for the past, like, two and a half months was just the first paragraph of chapter 5. The series has just stayed stagnant until today, when I finished 5 and wrote the entirety of six. I hope two short chapters is a good replacement for one long one. And the story as a whole should only have maybe three or four chapters left.
