Once upon a Ponyville...

Once upon a Ponyville everything was cheery, happy and always sunny.

But then ponies realised that's not how real life works. Real life is more complicated than that.

One day Twilight Sparkle lost a friend, it wasn't pleasant but sometimes it happens. She was heartbroken but she learnt a lesson.

One day Fluttershy offered kindness to someone but they took advantage of it and left her broken. Did she become bitter? No, because when you open your heart, you open it to everything, good and bad. That's why you have to be so brave to open your heart. You have to have so much inner strength.

One day Rainbow Dash found out that she wasn't the best flier ever. She received a brutal dose of reality. Did she quit? No, of course not. If anything, she worked even harder and, in time, she managed to regain her reputation, not without hard work and persistence, but it sure was worth it.

One day Applejack had to tell a lie in order not to hurt someone. She found it so hard to bend her virtues to help others, but in time she realised that sometimes legalism isn't the right way. Did she end up becoming a liar? No, she learnt to set boundaries and follow her conscience.

One day Pinkie Pie lost a family member. It was a tragedy but then she began to sing, and she finally realised the true meaning of 'Giggle at the Ghostie'.

One day Rarity became old and she lost her looks, but that's just the way life is. She learnt to let go and move on and to find beauty in other things. She realised that it was her generosity that made her beautiful and not her appearance.

One day all the ponies got together and looked back on their former selves and chuckled. They realised how young and foolish they had been and how foolish they still were. They realised though that it was their friendship that made them wise.

Alone they were nothing.

Together they are everything.

Friendship is magic.

Simply beautiful in its simplicity. I thought the themes were awfully poignant and they'll probably follow me through tomorrow morning. You've surprisingly managed to induce more feelings from me in 346 words than other authors have tried in ten chapters.

This is truly an unexpected gem. :eeyup:

BRAVO MY GOOD MAN!!!!!!!!!!!:moustache::moustache:

See...You get it. I do too. It sucks, but life does that.
Five stars for one shot o nice.

Short, simple, and straight to the point.

Very well done.

Thankyou, kindly.:moustache:

Glad you took something away from it. Mission accomplished. :moustache:

Isn't that what makes life great, though? :pinkiehappy:

So much irony... :facehoof:

That's your opinion, man. I always use "learned", but I'm absolutely fine with Deadclever's usage of "learnt", as he always uses it, never indecisively switching between the two.

221510
Not saying learned is wrong. Is just ironic that he's never learnt that learnt is also fine.
ALso, is that last part sarcasm?:rainbowderp:

222060
Never mind.

222703
No. Why would it be sarcasm?
In any case, when I want to put "burn" in past tense and use it as a verb, I always use "burned", but when I want to use it as an adjective, I always use "burnt".

Spike shouldn't be tagged as one of this story's characters.

Woops, didn't realise he had been tagged.

Beautifully simple. Short, yes, but by far one of the best fics I've read.:heart:

Glad you liked it. :)

the true meaning of giggle at the ghostie is to laugh at dead people!

:pinkiegasp::derpyderp2: How beautiful. :raritystarry:
