When I woke up with my Heartstone, I didn’t know how to feel. Despite everything our teachers, my parents, and even the other ponies at school had said, I expected it to be painful. After all, growing a hunk of crystal from your chest doesn’t sound painless; it sounds harsh and jagged, like suffering a wound.

Originally written for the "Hearts and Hooves Day Soulmate AU" contest in Quills and Sofas, where we had to write a "Soulmate AU" story.

I decided on an AU where ponies grow "Heartstones" on their chests, crystals that resonate with their soulmate's crystal.

Young man finds himself lost in badlands as a changeling, send to this world by unknown forces, he has to fend for himself in a world much darker than his favorite show has ever been. But why try to survive when you can thrive?

People say "be the change you want to see" and I decided to do so and write a fanfic I myself was looking for this entire time. I have experience writing DnD campaigns and quests, so, why not try to write a full-fledged story?

Fair warning, I'm from Russia and may have some problems with English grammar, feel free to correct any mistakes you find and criticize my story in the comments.

This story contains: HiE and human-to-changeling (obviously), occasional violence, Early-Medieval setting, RGRE themes, sexism (towards males), xenophobia, villain-protagonist, wholesome villain romance ("we can be horrible together" type), some angst, obscure references to CIS/Soviet/Russian media and literature.

PS: Yes, first four chapters are a mess, but I plan to rewrite those once my session is done.

A very young Twilight accidentally teleports herself to the moon were the legend herself resides. Years later, she returns.

She returns changed. Vanished as a Unicorn, she returns as an Alicorn. Princess Celestia has all her attention on the Moon Walker, now.

Jack Fitzgerald, a electrical engineer who worked aboard the Alterra Corporation's newly built Aurora, barely escapes the ships detonation in one of the few surviving lifepods, Lifepod 22. Plummeting into open waters about 2km away from the crater, he was supposed to die within minutes from the monsters underneath...

However, through some twist of fate, something else is lurking beneath, and unknown to Jack, it's the only thing keeping him alive...

Crossover with Subnautica

Life for her is hard enough without several different aspects of her mind combating for her attention. But having been blasted into a crater by rainbow lasers makes it a bit difficult for her to address interactions normally.

It'll be a long way for Sunset to build herself back up from scraps. She has a lot to do, and a lot of bonds to form. And all through it, she will often be distracted, in her own head.

An encounter with what appears to be an overgrown minion and a peppy blonde girl seems to jumpstart Sunset's magic unlocking a whole new world to Sunset. With all of the pain and turmoil around Canterlot High and her difficulty to trust so easily again when it comes to this new world, will Sunset be able to navigate both or will the pain tear her apart from both ends first?

There is absolutely no way that a child managed to doom all of Equestria, right? Especially not all on her own! Something else is at play here. Something deeper, stranger, and now, said child has been punished to the full extent of the law.

Well, this will not stand. Twilight Sparkle needs to rescue this foal secretly-- No child should suffer this heavy of a punishment. But to keep appearances, she will have to put this task on a trustworthy friend.

Now it's up to Starlight Glimmer to find a way to break into and out of Tartarus, all to rescue a child they presume to be innocent.
