Equestria's history has been altered. Changed and evolved into a complex web of lies and deceit. This story is meant to explain the changes I made to equestrian history for my novel, The Power of Truth. The story will contain countless viewpoints. Ranging from court scribes to King Sombra himself. I will try to update this story alongside of The Power of Truth. You do not have to read this to understand The Power of Truth, and vice versa. Dark tag once again does not mean grim dark. If you did not get the time period from the information above, this story is set around one thousand years ago, in my own version of ancient Equestria.

Within these pages you'll find yourself in one of the many stories and lives that Starswirl has gone apon, fallow him as he discovers and examines 'Friendship','Chaos', and 'hatred' (and others in later chapters) while writing in his journal of the many times he has traveled, meeting two forces that could endanger the kingdom, and ultimately have to come to a decision that will take every ounce of his magic and power to contain...

In the distant past, long before the elements, before the princesses, there was discord and sorrow.

Meet Lord Caelestis Niger or Black Sky, to his ponies he is known as The Great Black. Emperor of the Holy Equine Empire of Matavita, a distant land that was just as full of chaos as Equestria is. Until, he forged a brighter future, it just wasn't bright enough, not yet. After another brutal war, he is seeking a better solution to peace keeping. Meanwhile, a distant traveler is also seeking the same thing.

Will they find it together, share it? Or is there no solution to find?

Years ago some scrolls were discovered hidden deep in the Canterlot archives that describe a previously unknown event in the life of Starswirl the bearded. The authenticity of these notes are contested. This is that story and a brief analysis.

Emma is a young unicorn living out by the edge of the Everfree Forest with a magnificent view of the Dragon Mountains. She lives a life alone and scared. Every day of her life could be her last. Due to a dark magic parasite using Emma's horn as a host, she is a threat to pony kind. She is aware of being a threat, but is she aware of what is really going on?

The story takes place in AU where Terrek wasn't ever there and instead, was replaced by Kevin a person that was transported there by a present left by his parents that he thought that he knew, and it started on the lowest day he had ever lived, but life gave him a life in a world less grim and murderous, giving him the chance to really begin to enjoy himself again, maybe, and what determines his journey will be the ponies he meets and maybe someone/pony else.

Another is that the story is also affected by YOU, somewhat suggested characters will be added in the next chapter max being 3 every chapter each chapter is at least 1000.

Equestria stands at the edge of a cliff/ dagger waiting to fall. The only hope now is to defeat Nightmare Shadow and save their lives from danger and peril.
