Pinkie receives a letter from her estranged mother, asking for help retrieving a stolen gemstone called the Child. That small stone will lead to her jumping through time and going on an epic journey. She will meet princesses, overthrow tyrants, make new friends, and thoroughly screw with the timeline in a way only Pinkie Pie can! And maybe, just maybe, when everything is said and done, she'll patch everything up in the end. Or not. :P

When Princess Twilight convinced Starlight Glimmer to travel back in time with her to visit her idol, Starswirl the Bearded, neither could have expected the surprising turn that events were to take - or how hard it would be to reveal the truth.

This is an imagined history of Equestria-- or perhaps it's more like a creation myth. The distinction is fuzzy when your ruler is a god-empress. Call it what you like, this story considers what the world would have been like before unicorns moved the sun and moon. When I saw Smol Twilight and not Big Twilight, I facepalmed. So, taking everything in from A New Generation, Tell Your Tale, and Make Your Mark; I present to you, THE PAST!

Twilight has been presented a prophecy, one that'll determine the future of Equestria. A new threat rises on the horizon and sometimes it's best to step aside and let future generations deal with it.

(Yes, I am disregarding the comics. One, because I don't want to read that nor do I know how to read it. Two, because it just seems wrong. Dunno how else to explain it.)

It was a question. A simple question. One not yet recognized for its importance as all great discoveries tend to start.

Before the Discourse Era, around the period of Unification and Equestria's founding, before the reign of the Royal Sisters and during the rule of Platinum's bloodline, ponies had limited exposure to many species of Terrae. Many factors contributed to this: The Three Tribes themselves were still working out their differences
and as a prey species ponies had an instinct in the herd to avoid straying far from the rest-- at best the interactions most known before Discord were with the Dragons, Griffons, Bison, and Saddle Arabians. All creatures that shared the same proximity with the Equestrians and so ultimately wasn't much of a stretch in terms of exposure, and more of a inevitable result of acquiring new land.

Say what you will but Discord's appearance in the world itself would mark not just a change for the world but an introduction to various species unknown that would start a future beginning for the Royal Sisters.

Star Swirl, a pony whose name appears randomly throughout multiple centuries, was the only pony to ask the one question no one wanted to ask years following Discord's defeat and it was a simple question: "Where were all the draconequui?"

There was no answer to this question. No one had wanted an answer. And there was no easy way to have it solved during that time.

And so, he set out to find one. And find one he did...a few centuries later.

An entry in the Chaosverse

In a land with no heroes, two goddesses seek to defeat the tyrant known as Tirek who has been stealing the magic of ponykind.

Only there is no glory as their broken sorority hangs in the balance of a war-ravaged land where hope has been snuffed out and history is hardly ever the truth.

EDIT - This is no longer a One shot. >:) Something that i took notice of when Twilight commented that not even her magic could initially stop Starlight, and Twily is an Alicorn. Where exactly did she get all that magic, and was it something Starlight learned, or Inherited.

Starlight Glimmer was a powerful unicorn, and now the protege of Princess Twilight. But even she would find out that there was more to her past then just Sunburst' trip to magic school, and the aftermath of being alone all the time before creating Our Town out in the sticks. She would discover, as would Twilight, that Starswirl was more then just a hero figure to them, He was also closely linked in a surprising way to Starlight Glimmer.
The past is not set in stone
There is no fate but what we make for ourselves
And Starlight was about to learn it.

Edit: Will include parts from the Season 6 Finale. People have commented and asked why I'm doing this. Did it ever dawn on you that Starswirl the Bearded was known to be a Time Traveler?
That we know next to nothing on the history of the Changelings or Chrysalis?
Ive seen a few fics that painted the picture that the Changelings were or are somehow related to the FlutterPonies.
But i had another idea. One that came from The Episodes Hearts and Hooves day, and The Crystal Empire.
Remember when Sweetie Belle read about the Love Poison, specifically Chaos Reigning? A kingdom Falling???
ANd in the Crystal Empire episode, how Twilight had stated that the Crystal Fair was," Created by the Empire's first QUEEN to renew the love and light in the Empire???? >:)
