Spike is invited by Smolder, to the Dragon Lands for the annual two week holiday. At first Spike is anxious yet excited to spend time with his dragon friend but when he overhears Smolder telling others that he isn’t “dragon material”, he starts to consider backing out leading to a HUGE argument between them. Will Spike’s anxiety get the better of him? What exactly is going on with Smolder? What is she hiding? Will their friendship remain soaring or go up in smoke?

This story explores the complex yet inspiring friendship between Spike and Smolder, and their emotional self-doubts. I don’t think this will be canon since this will take place before Garble is revealed to be Smolder’s sister to Spike and couple days are after Sludge abandoned Spike.

The part where Smolder explains about diet was inspired by "Smolder, the Dragon Tutor" by Smart Mouth

"Are all these... yours?" Fluttershy asked Ember about the dragon eggs. "No... none of them are!" she denied. But what if this wasn't just a lie, but a BIG lie...?

Takes place straight after the episode Sweet And Smoky.

What do Spike, Garble, and Smolder have in common, besides being dragons? They've been summoned to another world at the behest of a needy adventurer who thinks her fortunes are turning with their arrival. No one involved is ready for what comes next.

After Sludge was found out. Spike, feeling so horrible for the mean thing he said to Twilight, decided to go and apologize to her. but will she accept his apology? Or will she kick him out?

The story Spike's Family Journey by frenettek314 served as an inspiration for this short one-shot.

Dragons are something of an enigma to Equestria. Those who do live within the borders are largely reclusive, either building their hoards or sleeping away the decades. So far as dragons who are active in everyday life in Ponyville go, Smolder represents a 100% increase in the population.

Twilight cannot let this opportunity slip her by. Enough time has passed for it to not be a diplomatic faux pas to sit Smolder down and grill her for much needed details on her species, not only for the sake of science, but for the benefit of the young dragon in her personal care. Naturally, the topic of death comes up.

Twilight handles that about as well as you might expect.

Discussion of death is largely academic and intended to be comedic but I've tagged it teen to be safe. No actual death or scenes of violence are shown so I didn't think the death tag itself was needed. It's also tagged for comedy as that was my intent, but only you can tell me if it's actually funny or not.

"Long ago, this crown rested on the head of those who would rule, and still it seeks the true liege." Spike thought it looked neat and put it on. Things happened, and he's not entirely unhappy with the result. Twilight does not approve.

Smolder might have stayed in Ponyville out of solidarity with Gallus, but that didn't make the winter any more enjoyable for her. Indeed, if what she just saw is any indication, it's going to be horrifying.

After realizing Smolder has not been attending class at the School of Friendship for a day, Spike tries to get to the bottom of her personal family problems.

Author's Notes: I know I said my last fanfic was the last one, but this one is very short! It's about a theory I've been having! As far-fetched this theory sounds, I believe it could work in the main series!

Smolder wants to enjoy a lovely dip in the lava pools. Spike on the other claw rather challenge the volcano itself!
