anyone remember this show from back in the 90s?
anyone remember this show from back in the 90s?
November 1, 2014. I was at 176 followers.
Jesus Christ.
I've been just rewatching some of my old livestreams. Damn, now I understand how bad my mic was. I hope it isn't as bad as it was approximately a year and a half ago.
Time flies. I can't believe I've even made it this far. I'm just glad that you all have stuck with me.
Oh, and for an even bigger throwback:
I just recently found this video
, and for the most part it's pretty spot on. Although, I don't mind the new Pokemon Sun and Moon anime character designs all that much, what has been bugging me with the anime series is Ash's inability to grow up. With that out of the way, there are other things to consider as well.
It’s decent!
Sprout deserved to be more of a threat.
Izzy’s great!
Movie should’ve been 2 half’s so the ending didn’t feel rushed.
Another Alicorn.
So many questions unanswered!
Sprouts mom is the true villain.
Sunny is great!
Gen 5 should’ve been a separate universe from Gen 4.
Racism!
Love Hitch! (Because James Marsden)
Dislike Pipp. (aka worse Rarity)
Like Zipp!
The technology didn’t bug me as much I thought it would.
Regardless of whether you loved or hated Magical Mystery Cure and alicorn Twilight when you first saw it, it was still the Season 4 premiere that followed (Princess Twilight, Pts. 1 & 2) that made the overall story viable in the long term.
I waffled on whether or not to post this blog because after I finished it, as I felt like it had served its purpose as the only form of journaling that I’ve enjoyed. Plus, it’s like therapy for me. Then, as I was perusing YouTube, I came across a video.
This is a compilation of the "Looking Back" series of posts, in which I go over each part of the show, season by season, episode by episode, and reminisce on what it was like at the time they came out. If you want to see these as they come, be sure to subscribe so you get notifications.

Remember this?
....THEY BROUGHT IT BACK.
IS THERE A WORD FOR HOW AMAZINGLY NOSTALGIC THIS IS!?
Watching this is giving me inspiration for a subject on why we have fonder memories of the earlier seasons. Beyond "nostalgia goggles" or "it use to be better." But I need to go to bed now. Just. Take this in.
Oh boy, this takes me back...
Raise your hand if you remember these?
Grading Scale:
A (fantastic episode)
A- (an excellent episode with at least one flaw)
B+ (a great episode with a couple of flaws)
B (a good episode which still could have been better)
You know, as hard as it might be to believe, franchise-based nostalgia didn't just begin with our generation.
When I was little, my family didn't have Sky or Digital or anything so it was primarily local channels for us.
At the time, due to 2-D Animation becoming mainstream, Stop-Motion animation was kind of phasing out. It was still kept on by some studios but most of the time it was just considered too slow and expensive to remain profitable.
September 3, 2018 was the premiere date of Come Along with Me, lasting for 44 minutes. One of the best swan songs in TV history, the finale introduced us to 2 new characters, Shermy and Beth, who are from a thousand years in the future. The King of Ooo turned out to be BMO, who told them the story of the Great Gum War. Aside from the return of Simon Petrikov to his normal state, the deaths of Maja the Sky Witch and Fern, and the sacrifice of Betty Grof to save Ooo, the biggest revelation was
It was 2018, and I only had a month left of school before graduation. The 9th and 10th graders had to take the STAAR test, so the school needed the hallways quiet between classes. So they decided that for the next three days, they would assemble all the 11th and 12th graders into the auditorium for all-day sex and drug PSAs. They invited a bunch of speakers, and some of them, well... some of them they DEFINITELY didn't research.
The amazing My Name is R has started a reading of Amber Ashes, and I finally got around to listening to it myself! It's quite a strange experience, listening to words you wrote and hearing it interpreted in slightly different, but very interesting and delightful, ways. It's not complete yet, but it's worth a look if you really liked the story. (Or, alternatively, are one of those people who didn't read it originally and like
Working on a little side project featuring my OCs. It's inspired by a combination of metal music and some of my personal experiences growing up. Link down below.
A few people added some of my older stories to their libraries and reading lists this past week, and I was just sitting here looking at them. If you click through, you can see "Of Clouds" with the most reads and upvotes. People genuinely liked my story (which shocked the heck out of me because it was my very first attempt at fanfiction). As you look at the later sequels, though, you notice the number of views drop, along with the number of likes and comments. I'm not complaining, though, just
I subscribed to Smosh back in 2014 and watched almost all of their content. They were so hilarious AF, especially their yearly Food Battle series and If It Were Real series. Their humor incorporated sexual references and swearing, which was the time when the majority of YouTube channels were personality-based.
