Just as fair warning, I'm typing this out on a phone since I don't have access to a computer. Brony con just ended. This is the first one I had ever been able to attend, but I'm glad I did.
The con was fun, and while I wasn't there under my author name (Butterscotch Cream) I still had the opportunity to meet some awesome people.
.....is to always be 100% honest with their followers. And the truth is, I got struck with a heavy fit of depression that crippled me for the most part during the last five days. That is why the final chapter of "Aegis" still isn't there and why there wasn't the promised writing report yesterday.
IN WHICH I WROTE SOME STUFF
I did it I did it I did it I did it. Finally, after months of on-and-off work, mostly while my mind was in some pretty horrible places, I finally finished Lows & Highs. As is my custom, I'm going to sit on it for at least a day and then reread it to see how much I should change before making it public.
After reading this excellent blog from bookplayer, it had me really thinking... why am I writing fanfiction? What am I trying to accomplish?

Wow, I know how to bite off too much. Especially these days.
The story is still seeing progress (it's my only project until it's finished), but it's getting more complicated because of where it's headed and the nuance involved. It's difficult to drop foreshadowing when the POV is so unusual. I've written a lot with unreliable narrators, but this takes it to a new level. Hopefully it'll be worth the wait, though.
No promises, but I'll probably be able to drop the next chapter tomorrow.

So, sorry I've disappeared other than a few comments and PMs over the last few days. Work has been not so much a headache as EVERYTHING IS ON FIRE. I've had three days where I could only write about a thousand words per day, when I was doing 3-5k before. I'm also pretty much out of edited things, so it may be a week or two before the next update. That's the bad news.
It's fair to say I've not kept up well at all with Fimfiction for a few months. Much of this has been to do with Real Life -- nothing really terrible, just a lot of things that required attention. I managed to keep the Flashfic 150 contests going, but they only need me to check in a few times a month. I'm acutely conscious that in slipping away for a bit, I've failed to keep up with a few people's PMs. They know who they are, I'm sure. I will try to get back to those, though I can't promise to

Well, typical, I have thought a lot about it, and I can't decide on the plot line. 
Not for the lack of ideas, but the lack of too many ideas. I'm not sure which plot I should choose as I feel they would all be interesting. 
But this is where you come in! 
Self-inflicted tragedy occurred today on the FiMfiction account of author Luminous Comet (age redacted), when over 1000 words of a new short story were lost. "It's really my own fault," the author told us with a rueful smile, before going on to blame everything but themselves, including but not limited to their computer, capitalism, and God.
Alright, fillies and gentlecolts, I'm not too sure how many people this will reach. But, I not many of you enjoyed reading Per Speculum in Aenigmate and are probably hoping to see more. Due to recent alcohol-cent events, I've started writing a lot more. That means more stories to be posted here! I've already got one I've started posting, and I can promise it'll be completed. Because I've already written it, and am just releasing it in sections.
Yeah, I don't trust me either.
...when you get this really good idea for a fan fic--this sort of adventure/mystery sort of tale feature Gallus, Spike, their respective pasts, their presents, and details on certain long-absent family members--but you know, deep down, you really don't have the time to commit to such a project?
Especially when you're me, and are trying (and only kind of succeeding?) to cut back on long-form fanfics? 
The deadline is approaching (fast) and I thought I'd procrastinate my writing give some news. The story is almost written. In fact, it would have been already finished if I had not changed half of its story when I was almost done. So I'm working hard to keep my promise and finish it (at last). Thanks for your patience.
