RIP Daniel · 1:54am Sep 20th, 2015
You will be sorely missed.
Sometimes, I really hate myself... Last week, I announced I would be finishing and uploading a new chapter on the Tuesday following, but... that didn't pan out as I hoped... One day late bled into two, then three, and next thing I know, it's Sunday.
Shit.
Lessee here... I put together the prologue over the course of three days, and wrote out the entire first chapter in about three hours. In the twenty hours since I published that chapter, The Locals has been met with:
•Fourteen likes.
•Zero dislikes.
•Six comments, one of which was my own.
•Ninety-eight views.
•A constant spot on the Popular Stories sidebar.
•Sixty-one bookshelf additions.
•And twenty-six users tracking its updates.
It was so much fun! We went to Starbucks to talk shit and then I ran into a guy from Jesus camp. Then we talked more shit at my house and it was really chill.
Oh boy. Here's installment four. As with the previous blogs, reading those before this one is going to make much more sense. This blog contains spoilers for the next chapters of Bride of Discord that I'm gonna be going over in here... unless I somehow skipped some. Dunno if I did since I'm constructing this from the notes on my iPod that I made 'bout a month ago and I didn't have anything to say for two or so chapters. If you want to check out the story for yourself - which I encourage you to
Hello, friends! After several months of off-and-on-writing and plenty of procrastination, I have finally finished the first draft of Killing Me Softly, a 4,569-word StarTrix romantic drama comedy told from Trixie's perspective, and I'm looking for some people to help me polish it! This is the longest one-shot I've written in six years, and I legitimately have put a lot of work into it, so I'd really like it to shine! (And ideally make it to the feature box.) You know it's serious when
So, it turns out that Sunday was a really good day for new stories. I read five new stories, and I liked them all.
How did this happen?
How is this even possible?
Who knows.
But I’m liking it.
Today’s stories:
Red Apples by Billymorph
Sometimes Maps are Dumb by HoofBitingActionOverload
Would It Matter If I Was by GaPJaxie
The Last Dreams of Pony Island by Horizon
One Heck of a Case by iisaw
And the surprise project has launched..... And it's aiming directly for your feels!
This year, I have written my first Hearth's Warming Eve fic and since Season 6 just happened and also because of time reasons, I have decided to pick this one from my Hearth's Warming writing ideas, "The Little Match-Filly".
Ever since I've seen "A Hearth's Warming Tail" in May, I wanted to write a ponified version of H.C. Andersen's story "The Little Match-Girl".
So I had this whole big spiel planned out, but on second thought, I think I can condense this all to a much shorter list of bullet points.
-MLP, I have recently realized, is not the show I keep wanting it to be. To be brutally honest, it's pretty shallow.
-The characters do have some depth to them, but it's not as much as people claim, and they don't develop so much as their personality shifts depending on the writer and the season.
So, after last week's blog post, I figured I should update you all on what's happening in my life and with the story. More below!
A while ago (precisely, last year), I have started to think that I'm not talking enough about myself. I've seen so many other authors talk about themselves in blog entries, sometimes even sharing very personal details about their lives, but I never wanted to talk much about myself and give away too many things about me, mainly, because I always thought that doing this makes me vulnerable. But at the same time, I also never liked to hide myself or who I am.
... I've some good news for once. I haven't actually squandered my time this time around. I have some new chapters to release, which I will get to do on the 6th to start, as promised. One a week, also as promised.
Alas, it was but a dream. But at least we ended on the note of a good, if slightly rapid-feeling, episode. Spoilers after the break.
That moment you decide to watch Grave of the Fireflies on a gigantic hd screen after going through a cruddy day.
Can anyone relate?
Honestly I just feel like giving a list of updates and the title of this blog doesn't reflect that but I gave up on it so have a happy.
I'm sorry to say that I've been very ill in the past few days and I haven't been able to write any more of my story. I apologise to the non-existent people looking forward to the story but it may be delayed. Hopefully, I will get better soon and will be able to finish my story in time, so let's pray God, Jesus, Allah, Ganesh, Shiva or whatever deity or being you worship that I get better from my illness. Sorry if I did not mention your religion. I mean no offense.
Yay!!!!!!
APPLEJACK: "What does this mean, Pinkie?"
PINKIE: "Not sure, but I've had this doozy every week on Saturday evenings for the last six or seven weeks. Maybe it means someone somewhere is writing up about our adventures?"
Speaking of holiday presents!
The big Bronycon panel where the show VAs read my script? They told me it couldn't be recorded for legal reasons. That doesn't mean there weren't cameras rolling, though! And technically, we can't write fanfiction of the show for legal reasons, either…
