Story Review #21: Embrace Your Demon —by EileenSaysHi
A reward for getting 3rd place in the Sunset x EG/MLP Villains “Bad Romance” contest!
Character’s:
Sunset Shimmer: You can really feel just how F’ed up this whole situation is and the hopelessness of her impending death followed by her possession. And despite its darker tone this story depicts Sunset in the most canon way it possibly can. Everything about it from her lines, emotions, to even her despair is very well executed.
Story Review #22: It’s Just Us —by Spyder27

Next on the train of movie write-ups... one of many controversial films by Martin Scorsese. "Taxi Driver."
(First watched July 26th, 2023.)
A friend of mine utterly hated this film. Having finally seen it for myself, I honestly kind of wonder if he and I watched the same movie.
All right. First up on the final batch of movie reviews for the year... the original "Dirty Harry."
(First watched July 7th, 2023.)
I'm glad to have seen this one, though I wouldn't say that I loved it. Liked it well enough, sure, and glad to have finally gotten context on it, but I didn't love it.
Wow. That was quite the season. I have a lot of overall thoughts to say, but since this is a season I haven't talked about before, I'm gonna save them for after the episode thoughts to maintain suspense. Episode thoughts are in the same format as the Season 3 ones, except I'm gonna be talking about every episode instead of just the ones I want to cover, cause I wanted to cover most of them anyways.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrreetings everypony, and welcome back to Deconstruction is Magic, my Retrospective/Review/Analysis of every episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is magic ever. Today, we have another fandom touchstone episode, Dragonshy! Without wasting any more time, let's get on with the analysis! I am the Mage of Mind, reminding you, as always, that even a cheeseburger can be deconstructed to its source.
Uh so I actually finished my rewatch of the whole series a long time ago and was just lazy writing my thoughts on a couple episodes which delayed the whole posting so uhhhhhhh woops hopefully the Season 9 review is out in much less time. Anyways.
Ok, I watched the entire Knuckles mini series, and it was alright. A small synopsis of each episode and my thoughts
Disney historically has done very poorly upon portraying race. From the racist crows (A reference to Jim Crow) in Dumbo to the whitewashed sanitized Pocahontas that neglected the part with the rape, genocide, and deadly diseases, Disney has many more examples of racial insensitivity to say the least. It's surprising then that they've produced Zootopia, a film that tackles race relations with touching nuance and sensitivity as to be relatable to children and adults. If you haven't, go see it.
Captain America: Civil War is, to put it simply, the best film the MCU has given us so far. Picking up in the wake of the utter complete disaster that was Age of Ultron, Civil War works not only to restore the damage that Age of Ultron caused, but also follow up on the remaining plot threads from The Winter Soldier, while also laying groundwork for Phase Three of
I saw it last night. It's the best of the bunch, hands down. GO SEE IT NOW.
Spoilers beneath the cut. You were warned, and I'm not sorry.
They're coming to get you Rainbow Dash!
Awww, the last episode before the Season 6 break hiatus:( Please tell me it isn't so?:( Aww, I hope this hiatus isn't too long:( I heard that the hiatus is suppose to last till Fall.
If only last week's episode had been pushed back a little more, we could have had Christmas in July. Bah.
A missed opportunity but hardly a breaking point. Speaking of...
Or 'The Saddle Row Review,' since there seems to be some mixed signals on what the official name of E#09-S#06 is.
Caught a live-stream for once... and wowzers, does America have obnoxious commercial breaks. One right after the opening song, really?
Still... You know the drill.
