My Thoughts: Saddle Row & Rec · 4:07pm May 21st, 2016

Or 'The Saddle Row Review,' since there seems to be some mixed signals on what the official name of E#09-S#06 is.

Caught a live-stream for once... and wowzers, does America have obnoxious commercial breaks. One right after the opening song, really?

Still... You know the drill.

Seriously, who checks, cleans and readies the new locale hours before the grand-opening?

Bit hard to sympathize with Rarity when the previously savvy business-mare does a rookie mistake on that magnitude.

Still... Was that a rouge Pinkie clone in the background? I think that was a still at large Pinkie clone in the background. Guess we know what there's going to be a small wave of fan-fics about now...

You know, beyond that the new kid whose name I missed seems to have good instincts for high fashion. Her dad the wanna-be PG-13 Russian mob-boss notwithstanding.

Still, an enjoyable and solid episode on the whole. Not quite as good as the 'Canterlot Boutique' one, but definitely in the same ball-park both theme and quality wise. :raritywink:

Wish they'd done a little more with the 'post the action interview' framing device, though. Hopefully it gets reused in another context.

The only part I did not like in this episode was Rainbow and Applejack being jerks to Twilight. Twilight needs better friends seriously, Minuette and the others are perfect friends. They're lucky Twilight didn't hear them otherwise she get furious at them, cause they deserved to be yelled at and be disowned.

Ehh... I can see what you mean, but Rarity DID promise them a fun evening in Manehattan, only to press them into service as free cleaning staff.

I'd totally expect some grumbling and bickering even from best-friends in that type of situation, and that's before Rarity started putting on airs and claiming credit like usual.

Honestly, that it stopped at some grumblings, I'd actually call a damn strong sign of just how deep the girls friendship runs.

Anyways great job on this blog post, I respect your opinions.

Thanks. :raritywink:
