So, on this, the final day of the year, I take a look back as is my custom, and decide if the year was a Win or a Loss.
Some years have been epic wins. Some have been equally epic losses, and a few have straddled the line between good and bad.
2018 has not been one of those years. It firmly lands in the column of Loss.
Today is my birthday, and I have reflected a bit on what it means this day:
I am... satisfied with the life I've lived, and the choices I've made. Gods know they weren't always the right choices, but they were mine, and I am proud of all of them. Even the bad ones, because learning from them has made me a better person.
2016 sucked. There really isn't another way to put it. I've watched my country take part in a bitter, divisive referendum with a campaign that resulted in a significant spike in hate crimes, a quite alarming drop in the value of the pound, and something about the European Union. I've watched as the second female Prime Minister of my country rose to power on the basis of everyone else in the race dropping out and she happens to be the one politician I wouldn't want anywhere near 10
So, on this day in 2016, I was feeling kinda sorry for myself. I had just turned 50, and I was thinking of how few years I had left and how many things I had left undone. I began thinking of a promise I had made to myself back in my 20's. Of how I would be an author in my 50's and write stories that folks would enjoy. It started to make me even sadder, but then I realized I've been telling stories all my life.

, and for the most part it's pretty spot on. Although, I don't mind the new Pokemon Sun and Moon anime character designs all that much, what has been bugging me with the anime series is Ash's inability to grow up. With that out of the way, there are other things to consider as well.
I waffled on whether or not to post this blog because after I finished it, as I felt like it had served its purpose as the only form of journaling that I’ve enjoyed. Plus, it’s like therapy for me. Then, as I was perusing YouTube, I came across a video.

Today marks the day I've been here for a whole year! 
It all started with me seeing a little fan film about My Little Dashie, of course I wanted more, and so began the search for sequels, and when I found them I wanted even more!

Today, I would like to look back on what has become one of my favorite stories that I’ve written, From Finner. It’s been almost a year since I completed it and posted it on FIMFiction, and the responses I’ve gotten to it and to Finner himself have made me smile and touched my heart. It’s a long one this time, but I have a lot to say about this story. So, without further ado, let’s jump in to this writing reflection!

I've been asked to finish and post blog entries for Writing Advice and Looking Back, a chapter of Displaced into Nothing, and I'm trying to wrap up a commission, all by year end.
At times you find yourself looking back.
In my case, I took my time and looked back at my past work. My second big project was Fallen Knight, as Night Wonder did come first, but I had too many issues with it. Looking back on it, I'm still really happy with it, buuuut, I also cringe at some of my choices.

I subscribed to Smosh back in 2014 and watched almost all of their content. They were so hilarious AF, especially their yearly Food Battle series and If It Were Real series. Their humor incorporated sexual references and swearing, which was the time when the majority of YouTube channels were personality-based.

Now, I really don't know what it is, but when it comes to ponies I always find some of the best-looking ones are pegasi. I really have no idea, but yeah... Pegasi are especially pretty, especial Wonderbolts!
