Things that we should think about as Sun and Moon draw closer

I recently saw this video

And it got me thinking, there really have been a lot of good things from the prior generations of Pokemon that we only got to see in 1, 2 or 3 games before they were outright abandoned that really should have remained to be ongoing components in the Pokemon franchise. There are also probably features that never showed up in the games or show that have been entirely by fans that could be fun elements to play with in series as a whole.

What are some features, official or not, that you think need to be introduced or brought back for the Pokemon games? They probably won't show up in Gen 7, but if we get word out in enough volume to the production team some of the features might make an appearance in Gen 8
