It's Canada's 150th birthday today which means 150 years ago today, Canada was signed as an official country and not just a colony owned by the British. If it wasn't for that fateful day, I would never be calling myself a Canadian and I most certainly wouldn't have that Canadian accent.
I think... It's hard to tell you have an accent when you speak that accent your whole life.

As of last night, 150 people are now following me! When I joined here, I honestly didn't expect to get more than maybe 10 or 20. Never expected to get anywhere even near this many. Thank you everypony for bothering to follow me!~
I begin this year with a new mini project. One that I wanted to participate in for more than 2 and a half years already, ever since I saw it first, but could not find the time nor the concentration for, because life was showing its ugliest side to me.
I write because it helps me think things through. I can walk around for days or years, accumulating a big tangle of half-formed thoughts, but it's not until I sit down and try to channel them into a story that they start to cohere.

The MOFA is a competition for very short stories of 150 or fewer words each.
In February, the contest's theme was "Bureaucracy." As usual, I had some difficulty picking out a winner.
This month, it's truer than ever that the MOFA is just an opinion someone had while they were trying to pick a favorite story out of someone else's contest's entries!
I had a lot of trouble picking one favorite. I also had trouble deciding whether I should judge primarily on the basis of LGBTQIA+ Pride Month, or on other criteria.
With a theme of "Just This Once," May 2022 was a good month for the Flashfic contest, with ten stories entered in Loganberry's Flashfic 150 contest (unless I miscounted ), of which nine qualified as MOFA entries. (The difference is because I can't accept my own entry to Loganberry's contest as a MOFA entry.)
The December 2021 contest prompt was "It's a Gift!"
After some careful consideration, December's MOFA First Place winner is TheAncientPolitzanian, for "Three Hundred and Thirty-Three."
I remarked to Politzanian:
It’s a collection of short stories that are usually just around 150 words long. But I’m proud of these stories, despite their abruptness.
If something is not published, it might as well not exist. But they do exist and deserve to see the light of day. They’re good stories; it would be a shame if I kept them from you.

I'd like to run a flash fiction contest, but I don't like to do WORK. Well, sometimes I don't want to.
On the other hand, who doesn't like telling people what to think sharing their opinions with others complimenting other people?
The January 2022 contest prompt was especially dear to my heart: "Break the Rules!" with an optional challenge of "Write a story that also breaks at least one 'rule' about how to write. Preferably, write a story that isn't made worse by breaking the rule, but instead uses its freedom to good effect."
Okay, so I didn't get a lot of questions. Shame, I thought there'd be more, but whatever. I can answer these ones.
