2022 July MOFA (Mockingbirb's Opinionated Flashfic Award) Contest Results For "I didn't think the leopards would eat MY face!"

This month, it's as true as ever that the MOFA is just an opinion someone had while they were trying to pick a favorite story out of someone else's contest's entries!

I had a lot of trouble picking one favorite. But finally I selected...

libertydude's "No U."

Among its other good qualities, this entry...met the word limit, actually told a story, made clear what was happening so that I could visualize it if I wanted, did decently with the characters imho, and generally seemed to avoid distorting the prose to fit into the word limit. I especially liked the handling of Mud Briar, including the irony that resulted from his saying things in ways that were natural for him.

Entering a Story For the MOFA

Conveniently, the way to enter the next MOFA round is, as usual, simply to enter the Flashfic 150.

Entering Some Other Story Contest Where You Get to See Mockingbirb Be All Judgmental

In the "Bad Romance" Sunset Shimmer x MLP/EqG Villain contest, you get to write Sunset Shimmer having a bad relationship.

I'll be co-judging, and even providing a special prize of a custom short short (or maybe just short) story commission by me. (Or is that TWO special prizes? In total, I will provide one custom commission each to the two top stories/winners.)

LOL I'm surprised anybody wanted to talk about that story. It was pretty silly and I whipped it up just on a lark. Glad you enjoyed it though, and I will definitely be checking out the stories that come from the "Bad Romance" contest.
