I keep a pocketwatch. Odd thing for a time-traveler to say. Fortunately, it was enchanted by a friend of mine to tell me the year, along with the relative time. I used to find it odd that if I spent a day in the year 600, a day would pass in the year 2300 and 1000 and...oh, you get the idea.
Of course, I found being here also something to freak out about, much less the ability to travel the time-stream with that Gate Key I ordered. Apparently the thing worked a little too well.

This year, Maple, an earth pony, decides to run in the annual Running of the Leaves. Never before has he attempted this feat. Even though other ponies and himself doubt that he is capable of doing well in the run, Maple still competes more for himself than for first place.

In the town of Ponyville, three newcomers arrive on its streets. One of them is the egoistic Mystery Keystone. He is a wise-cracking, razor-sharp wit, intelligent, and mysterious crackerjack pony. He is also dead . . . a skeleton. This is his story.

Yes, Mystery is the pony version of Skulduggery Pleasant.

Sassaflash's cousin, Rocinante is visiting Ponyville in order to witness the Summer Sun Celebration and get away from his stress at work, but when Nightmare Moon threatens the land with eternal night, how can a pony stand aside and do nothing?
