The griffons have launched an unprovoked attack against Equestria, but Twilight doesn't care about that. All she cares about is Rainbow Dash going to war.

While out hiking by herself, Twilight comes upon a mare sitting near a campfire. The mare looks familiar, but that isn't whats bothering Twilight. It's the fact that the mare's ears and head twitch towards any sound in the forest. Is she waiting for someone?

Twilight has been waiting and waiting for a new letter from Rainbow Dash. The Pegasus had been off fighting in the war that broke out across Equestria, however, she is killed in action.

When Twilight finally receives a letter, it isn't what she's expecting.

Ten years ago, I, Princess Twilight Sparkle, created a new holiday for all of Equestria. On this day, we stop and remember our past so we can share it with those who will come after us. Today is Remembrance Day.

And it's going to be a good day.

Twilight's lived in Canterlot castle as a princess for years now, but something's changed. The guards give her funny looks behind her back, and it seems liked Celestia' started avoiding her. Her marefriend, Rainbow Dash, assures her nothing's wrong; that she's just over-thinking things. But she knows something changed, and it all started when Rainbow took her vacation from the Wonderbolts to spend some time with Twilight in Canterlot.

Ignores all canon after Twilight's Coronation.

Rainbow Dash has just passed away and is survived by her marefriend, Twilight Sparkle. Twilight is broken by the loss of her lover, and believes that she will never smile again. Will one last message from her true love be enough to pull her from her misery?
