Edit 22 Apr 2013: Here is a random alternate ending I thought of last night at work. I liked it too much to let it go unwritten, so enjoy.

Applejack gets introspective around the wrong pony(Pinkie Pie), knocking her entire life for a spin as she suddenly learns to see everything from a different angle. Will it turn out that everything she ever knew was a lie? That there's a real Applejack out there that she has to find before she can be happy with herself?

One rain-filled day, five hundred years after becoming a Princess, a lonely and depressed Twilight takes an unguarded moment, away from her responsibilities and reflects on all the friends that have left her behind.

The weakest can become the strongest, and the unruly can become the leaders. Fate has a funny way of doing that to even the most unlikely of ponies. They may not know it yet, but a group of unsuspecting youth are going to be the saviors of Equestria when the Elements of Harmony aren't capable of it. Hell is rising in the land and things are bound to get worse. The situation is surely dangerous...

But nothing is more dangerous than a group of determined, out of their league kids.

Just for a little bit. That's what Pinkie had said when she asked Discord to watch the bakery and the twins for her. Well, a little bit has just gone out the window. Discord has no idea what a life-changing experience he's about to go through.

Life changes: this is just a simple fact. Sometimes the changes are great. You can gain new friends, or even have your role model take you under their wing. Other times changes can be terrible. You can lose family, and maybe even be taken away from everything you care about.

Derpy Hooves is just the local mailmare whom everyone tries to stay out of the way of, because they hate ponies who are ‘different’….and she is different, due to an accident she had when she was young.
But when a bumbling, geeky stallion called the Doctor arrives in Ponyville, he takes a special interest in Derpy when she stands up to an angry manticore in order to save the lives of the schoolchildren. Impressed with her skills and compassion, he decides to take her on wonderful adventures, only to come to a planet that has the most deadly aliens in the universe. When Derpy almost dies, the Doctor takes her back home and leaves her alone, leaving her to a life of uncomfortable attention focused on her, and after a while, both miss each other desperately and come back together in their friendship, only to realize they are in the greatest danger they have ever faced....

It's Twilight's birthday! Pinkie gives Twilight a book on how to be Pinkie. At first dubious, Twilight becomes fascinated by the view into Pinkie's mind.

In "The Cutie Pox" Apple Bloom sent a friendship report to princess Celestia, despite not having been asked to do so. This story explores what happens if the habit of sending friendship reports spreads even further.

When Big Macintosh saves Applejack from a broken promise on the last day of harvest, she starts to worry she's been taking him for granted. Intent on fixing it, she takes him and Apple Bloom on a camping trip into Whitetail Wood, determined that they all have a good time together, as a family.

A simple story about a brother, his two sisters, and how much they mean to each other.
