With the end of their High School days approaching, Sunset Shimmer is forced to face the fact that she has more feelings for Wallflower Blush than simple fondness and friendship. The prospect of asking Wallflower out, though, is a daunting one.

Meanwhile, Wallflower is faced with the loss of the one good thing she's found once the end of high school comes and everyone goes their separate ways.

Not everyone has the steel in their spine to be the weapon of purpose that Sunset is. She knows what her surrogate mother needs from her, and what is asked of her, and all her life she has accepted that she would always be the sum of that purpose: the steel and strength of the Solar Princess.

Now, things have changed, and the weapon wants more than a sheathe. She wants more than to be swung in battle against those who would make brittle the rule of law and the power of the throne. Sunset knows how to swing both blade and magic, but swinging human is something completely different.

Wallflower isn't exactly what you'd call legendary, unfortunately.

Wallflower has been living a difficult life since the destruction of the Memory Stone, but no one else knows and she's gone to great lengths to keep it that way. The last thing she needs is to be even more of a burden, after all.

Although an unlikely pair to their friends, Gilda Grimfeather and Sunset Shimmer have been dating for almost a year. Both brash, confident, and straightforward souls, Gilda and Sunset stuck fast to one another not long after the Fall Formal. Now with much of summer having passed and the August heat beating down on them, Gilda finally convinced Sunset to move out of her little makeshift home in the third story office of an abandoned warehouse and into Gilda's flat with her in the Ponyville Commons before the onset of another brutal Canterlot winter in the unheated office she lived in.

But dating, even long term, is a very different beast from living together, and the prospect has tempers running a little high for both of the girls. Bad habits and little resentments alike flare as they do their level best to get Sunset's home cleared out.

Strongly influenced by the story Featherfall, as well as my deep love of hilariously out of place crackships, this is my submission for Oroboro's Sunset Shipping Contest. Show some love for my best girls, Sunset and Gilda.
