It's Mother's Day in two days. Discord wasn't planning anything at first. But after an encounter with Spike, he realizes that there's someone who perhaps deserves some appreciation on this upcoming holiday. The only question is, how does he show it?

NOTE: There is no romantic shipping in this. Not for anyone. And especially not for Discord and Fluttershy.

She thought she was ready to love him again. But then he had betrayed her, just like he did a thousand years ago. The re-earned trust and loyalty had been destroyed, and she didn't think she could ever forgive him ...

When Celestia banished Nightmare Moon, she thought it was the only way she could save Equestria. This decision, however, though not an easy one to begin with, carried with it a weight that only grew heavier with time. Now, fifty years later, it is the eve of the Summer Sun celebration. Festivities are being held all throughout Equestria, and almost all are celebrating Celestia's defeat of the great evil that nearly covered the land in eternal darkness.

She is the One who Mourns, She Who Raises the Sun and Moon, the Reclusive Princess.

Years have passed since the appearance of the Mare in the Moon, years during which Celestia has left the day-to-day running of the still-young kingdom of Equestria in the hooves of Platinum's grandson Prince Pyrite. Each day she raises and lowers the sun and moon, makes brief appearances at diplomatic meetings and special events, and then returns to her chambers, too lost in her melancholy to even count the years as they pass.

But what will she do when she discovers that her trusted prime minister has not been the faithful servant of the people she expected? Will she lose herself to her grief... or to the same madness that took her sister from her?

Celestia opens one door. And then another...

She is the sun. The day, the light, the waking, the Alpha.

She is the moon. The night, the dark, the sleep, the Omega.

In another time they would have been enemies. So sometimes it's hard to remember that they're sisters.

Celestia has many titles and duties and there are always things that remind her of this. They could be ponies or objects, perhaps even something more abstract and symbolic. Today is one such reminder of one of the lesser known roles, which she was never acknowledged for. She's even afraid to acknowledge it herself no matter how often the date repeats.

Princess Celestia, ruler of all Equestria, is a giving creature. She gives of her time, her talents, her love. In return, Celestia asks for one night a year for herself, in which she remembers the terrible night when the world came to an end.
