Winter, for some ponies a fun time of the year where they get to play in the snow and skate on the ice. For some ponies, winter is but a bothersome time of year when the snow gets in their way and they try to keep warm each day. For Fluttershy, it is a lonely time of year, a time where she feels as empty as her house.

Each winter day, each and every year when the winter season comes, Fluttershy awakens to loneliness. This year though, things are slightly different. This year, she has somepony beside her to listen to her pains and try to fill the void of loneliness.

A magazine article inspires Rainbow Dash to ask Fluttershy out on a whim. Which is all very well, but when Fluttershy takes her up on it, and Rainbow actually has to consider the practicalities of the whole 'dating' thing...? She didn't think that far ahead.

When Rainbow Dash realises that she's been feeling strange when Fluttershy is around, she decides to ask her friends about it.

A friend returning home after a long absence is something to be celebrated, isn't it? In other circumstances, Rainbow Dash would be delighted that Fluttershy is back after almost a year away, but all she has are questions; questions and dark, disturbing thoughts that she'd rather not delve into. For the past four months, Fluttershy had been keeping two secrets from her friends. One of which being that she now has a night job at a small, strange, gothic bar known as the Poison Apple. The other being that she is still part vampire fruit bat, hence why she has the job in the first place. Now with her friends showing up, an entire evening will change everything. Especially with her feelings for Rainbow Dash.
