Because "Anon" is representative of /b/. And /b/ is the absolute scum of humanity, the infected asshole of the internet. He's rude, disrespectful, excessively vulgar(and this is coming from a former Drill Sergeant) and an all-around dick. Plus, it's a copout. If you;re going to write a 2nd person story, just omit the name. It's very easy to do. If you're going to name the character, then give him a damn name and write it in 3rd or 1st person.

I'd agree, and even go a step farther: Write that prospective second-person story with a nameless first-person narrator instead. That way it isn't out of character. A couple of entrants from the "Most Dangerous Game" contest a few years ago found ways to make it work, but mostly second-person just ruins otherwise fun story ideas.

Personally I just find the "you" character impossible to identify with b/c it's supposed to be "me" but it's so definitely not me that I can't help but go... "okay my immersion is broken." Additionally, the Anon stories often are dogged with terrible cliches and setup with ponies romantically without any attempt to try to develop Anon beyond his characterization as "lover boy"

Fun fact, the word 'anon' (pronounced with an actual french lisp) means, more-or-less, 'in the future' or, more simply, 'later'. Coincidentally, when I notice an anon story, that's what I say.

For me, I guess it's because I don't like reading about ponies having sex with bizarrely-named green-skinned racist misogynistic caricatures with question marks for faces. And even if I did, "Anon" is as far from original as you can get, and rather than making the reader feel included in the story, it pulls them out of it by personifying the reader in a telly way.
