Howdy folks! First and foremost, as always, Adorable Applejack:
Now then...
Wow. It's... been a hot minute, hasn't it? My last blog post was in February, and that was mainly to signal boost a friend in need. Sorry. So, what have I been up to in that time? Well, like you probably guessed by the title, I published another Undertale story over on AO3.

Jake The Army GuyLife on the surface hasn't been easy for Flowey. Dealing with the guilt and trauma over everything that happened underground, as well as learning how to love again, has been a constant struggle. Thankfully, he's had the unwavering support of Frisk, as well as Toriel and Asgore, who stuck by his side even after learning about what he'd done. Over time, he confessed every dark truth about himself to them... save one.
Now, six years later, Frisk and Flowey return home so that he can lay bare the last secret he has, and perhaps heal the final scar that remains.
See, me and some people in an Undertale Fanfic server I'm in were talking, and we came to the conclusion that post-Pacifist Route Flowey likely still has his positive emotions, judging by what he says when you boot the game back up, and from the Alarm Clock thing that Toby put out a few years ago, showing where all the characters are now. So, that got me thinking what would happen if, after years of learning how to feel again, he decided to come clean to Toriel and Asgore about who he really is? A lot of stories and comics have a scene like that, but it's usually with an emotionless Flowey. Hell, one comic even had Toriel and Asgore "say goodbye to Asriel" at the end, because Flowey felt like he was a different person. As someone who deals with his own trauma, pretending that the person you were before the event is dead just seems very unhealthy.
So, I wrote this. I am quite proud of it, and if you care at all about Undertale, I'd be honored if you popped over and gave it a gander.
Now, some of you may be asking if this means I am done writing MLP stuff, and the answer is no. I still have a sequel to Finding Your Place I want to work on. However...
I'm not gonna get too far into details, but my life has hit a roadblock, after a fashion. I just learned that my "four year degree" is actually gonna take me six. That in and of itself sucks. However, I have spent the last few months almost constantly stressed, anxious, and depressed. So I've decided to take a break.
And right here right now I just lost motivation to type any more about it. That is a theme. I don;'t know what I;'m doing or where I;m going. But I'm gonna make it work, dammit. My dad used to call me The Comeback Kid, because I always graduated at the last second by the skin o' my teeth. SO don't worry too hard about me. I'm not leaving any time soon. I'm like genital herpes: I may go away for a little bit, but you're never really gonna be rid of me.

Yeah, it looks a little Kronenberg, and that was somewhat intentional. We saw in the game that he can imitate faces, and it would look unnerving in 3D. However, it was also to show that while he's healing and moving on, he's forever scarred by what happened.

I had the benefit of deleting an aborted genocide run, so it was no problem :)
Jump from 4 to 6 years… oof, I feel your pain. Literally. I dropped & Got a D in one anatomy class one too many times, and was booted from nursing school because of it. I ended up going into another major. Graduated after my 6th year total in 2020 (great year to finish right?). Just think of it as a little speed bump. Sure it’ll slow you down a bit, and it may leave you in a little shock if you didn’t see it coming, but you’re still on the road.
Typically it takes four semesters to complete a Master's degree. I had to complete mine in five. For some reason my Master's thesis took a lot out of me. I just wanted to be so done with it I slap dashed a really mediocre first draft. When I got it back from my thesis adviser with his notes and stuff, I felt different about it. I decided I would write the thesis I wanted to write. The thesis that needed to be written! In the end, I wrote a thesis I could be proud of. Hopefully you find this anecdote encouraging.
I'm pretty active on AO3, but honestly I'm not much of an Undertale person.
