So, yeah, I wrote a changeling Derpy story. It should pass approval soon. I don't see any reason why it won't; all it is is a manual-style script-formatted metafictional circle-jerk piece that has been rejected before and is being resubmitted with no changes. Oh, and I plagiarized it.
Not for reals. Seriously, it's a changeling Derpy story. This raises the question in my mind: who hasn't secretly been replaced by a changeling / gotten turned into a changeling / been a changeling all along by this point? I think I have personally seen with my own eyes every single one of the main cast at one point or another. There's kind of a funny story idea in this, where all of Equestria suddenly reveals that they've been replaced by changelings simultaneously, apparently without each others' knowledge, but I don't feel like writing it. I'm too busy trying to figure out how much people will hate me if Cadence eats oysters at some point during "Cadance of Cloudsdale" even if I have other ponies look at her funny for doing it. Pony ovo-lacto vegetarianism is practically a sacred thing in some head-canons, and I've seen some pretty heated comments on other stories regarding this topic.

Obviously Pinkie Pie is the only non-changeling in Ponyville. Ponyville was set up specifically to allow the all-you-can-eat love buffet that is Pinkie Pie's general demeanor.
It's like Luau forever. Ponyville is used as a tourist trap for Changelings.

Mehh, they can probably digest it. I never have much of a problem with that sorta stuff, unless it goes to the level where pony families have steak for dinner.

Second regarding the diet: Ah, now there's a curious thing indeed. The show implies that anything but meat is fair game, but that ponies don't treat eating fish as a moral issue considering Fluttershy actually at one point catches a fish for some...otters I think. But do ponies eat any meat? Why? Would they be ill? Or is it taboo? At least some griffons live among them, too, and one can presume they aren't vegetarians themselves, so they might be aware of the concept of eating meat.
If I had to guess I'd say that they see eating a steak as murder (cows talk in this universe), but eating fish and such as...squicky. Much like a westerner might react to a dish involving grasshoppers or ant larvae. But some do eat, at least a bit. The adventurous, the eccentric, the just plain odd. Possibly a few health-nuts who tout that, honestly, there's quite a lot of protein in there! It's good for you! Stop making that face and eat it!

Heck, there's even Into the Black: A Mare's Tale where ponies are full omnivores.
I haven't seen any stories where Doctor whooves (time turner) or DJ PoN-3 have been changlings.
There's also Everyone's a Changeling, which takes it to a whole new level.

I think I read somewhere that horses can sometimes eat meat, though a quick Google search seems to indicate that meat products are harmful to a horse's digestive system. Then again, the ponies are regularly seen eating sugary foods, which are also bad for horses, so I think we can safely say that pony diets are subjective. You'd also have to look at how relations with carnivorous griffons would affect pony culture... I don't know. It's up to you, dude, but I'd say go for it. If people are too stubbornly attached to their headcanons that they can't accept anything that contradicts it, then that's their fault, not yours.

The Elements of Harmony are fabrications. Complete and utter bullcrap, all meant to keep up the charade for Pinkie Pie's benefit. Celestia is in on it, and she's trying to breed a love-generating dynamo to bring about peace with the Changelings. Chrysalis was a rebel who wants to destroy everything and that's why they had to have Cadence and Shining Armor take her out, because there are no Elements of Harmony. Nightmare Moon, Discord, all centered entirely around Ponyville and all total bunk to give Pinkie Pie ever greater highs of self esteem to increase her love output.

Well my estimate is that they don't. And if they do it's almost certainly fish. I'm assuming they cleave to the good old fashioned "Never eat anything clever enough to invent differential calculus," which rules out most hooved animals on their world. Not so sure about pigs. I seem to recall that Applejack keeps some and that they acted, uh, piglike. I did hear a theory that the pigs were there to hunt for truffles, which amused me.

Clarification: it becomes "Cadance" shortly; it's still "Cadence" at the time of the first story. There's a whole story explaining it, assuming I drag myself to doing it!
I haven't read "The Importance of Spelling" deeper than a brief skim, as it seems like it might turn out to be quite close to the above-mentioned story, and I want to maintain plausible deniability in case someone accuses me of cribbing gags.
EDIT: And here I thought you were grading me in the other direction! I should add that I still don't know what's official. For a long time it looked like "Cadance" was the Word of Words, but then "The Crystal Empire"'s credit sequence reversed it to "Cadence" and now I'm just confused and I'm going to just fudge it according to the needs of the storyline.
