An outbreak of lice breaks out in Ponyville's elementary school, only to be quickly shampooed out of existence. But who other than Fluttershy should find herself hosting them after the initial panic dies down? Convinced that protecting these lice wouldn't harm anypony else—as had been the case with Applejack's bat problem—if she were careful—and would definitely not be a repeat of the Parasprite incident—Fluttershy decides to keep them in her mane.

Diamond Tiara has a long history of inconsequential bullying. One insult to a certain pony, however, was enough to turn almost everypony in Ponyville against her.

Diamond Tiara, in the spirit of the holiday, decides to spread a little love on Hearts and Hooves Day. She goes about this by writing and delivering a letter to Snails that is meant to look like a confession of Apple Bloom's secret (nonexistent) crush on him. She reasons that Snails will feel inclined to respond to the letter through an expression of his own "love", embarrassing both himself and Apple Bloom. And that's exactly what happens.

Suspicious of the motives behind Rainbow Dash's actions, Apple Bloom rallies the Cutie Mark Crusaders and sets out to uncover the truth. Their means of finding that truth, however, lead to more insight on Rainbow Dash than they asked for.

Long before the invasion of Canterlot, a certain malevolent queen kept close watch on Equestria's most important ponies. After their astonishing victory against Night Mare Moon, Queen Chrysalis busied her Hive with spying on and studying the Elements of Harmony.

After receiving a slightly warped and partially abridged report on Fluttershy's heroic defeat of the dragon whose smoke clotted the skies above Ponyville, Chrysalis demanded more accurate reconnaissance to assess the full capabilities of this pegasus brave-heart. Due to the intimacy and intricacy of the mission, she had decided to send in Raze, confident in his ability to sustain a facade and gather information. She did not, however, count on a second, unauthorized changeling following him.
