Applejack and Rainbow Dash have been together for more than a year now. Their relationship has blossomed through Discord, a changeling army, and a whole hoof full of crazy situations and dumb mistakes. They've managed to form a partnership and learned to work out their problems together, not an easy lesson for two tough, stubborn ponies.

But now Rainbow Dash is convinced that their lives are getting boring, and if there's one thing Dash doesn't like, it's boring. So Dash has set out to make her relationship with Applejack more interesting. . . and AJ's not so sure she likes that sound of that.

But the spell is not without potential side effects, and AJ and Dash have to decide if they're ready to be part of a magical experiment that could give them a foal of their own, or cost Applejack her life.

Now Apple Bloom is living in mortal dread of becoming a mare, Sweetie Belle is keeping an ever changing list of which colt she wants to be her very special somepony, and Scootaloo is leaving for flight school in Cloudsdale at the end of the summer.

It's a time for first kisses, changing friendships, and new ways of thinking about their bodies and themselves as three best friends to decide what kind of ponies they're going to become, and how they'll survive the bumpy road of growing up. But however they do it, they'll do it together.

While coming home from the Canterlot rodeo with Applejack, Rainbow Dash spots a strangely familiar pony. The weird coincidence seems to mean something more to Applejack, leading to a conversation about family that may bring two friends even closer.

When they first moved to Ponyville, Fluttershy moved into an ornate cloud house, and Rainbow Dash moved into an animal infested cottage. As they settle into new lives and meet new ponies, they quickly discover that this isn't going to work at all.

Rainbow Dash is nothing if not daring, so after reading the Daring Do books she attempts some of Daring's dangerous deeds. She then writes a letter to the author with some helpful hints she learned in the process.
