The Doctor must be a bit annoyed about having to take over for Pinkie, though I suppose he probably has the best place to party. I wonder if the TARDIS would generate a party room for just such a reason. It will definitely be interesting to see those little trials that Nightmare Moon throws at them. Keep up the good work.

I am dealing with that problem myself.
The solution I'm working towards is that this series is going to start diverging more from the actual series (I don't want it to just be a warped mirror). Situations from the episodes will still show up, but the overarching story will start to become more of it's own thing.

what? There is a serious story in this? Not sure what I think of that... So is this gonna be an universe where the sonic rainboom never took place? I hope his doesn't turn into the mane 6 just getting together or something, as I've seen a couple of those. As for the main story: Maybe you could have the cutie mark chronicles and everybody get there cutie marks due to a mistake Ditzy Doo made, and this mistake could have also caused the sonic rainboom not to happen.

Don't worry. The mane 6 I've introduced are the main characters. I'm not going to pull some stupid trick where the original mane 6 rush in to save the day. It would defeat the whole point of the title (Backround Ponies are Magic).
Also, the general tune will still be lighthearted and silly. But I felt like I should explain where the mane 6 all were, and these intermissions about the original Mane 6 will be a bit darker, they have, after all missed out on their true callings in life. Those stories aren't going to be sunshine an rainbows. But PDP was by far the darkest of them, so you don't have to worry about their lives sucking.
Oh, and this is not just a world where Dashie failed the Sonic Rainboom.

His element is supposedly laughter right? .... Well he IS cheery but.. The only enemies I know about doctor who are just daleks, weeping angels, vashta nerada and cybermen. Also the silence... But those aren't really in that dimension. I guess I understand the problem. I hope I could help somehow, this story is awesome..

but last night I kept thinking "doctor whooves..pinkie pie...doctor whooves..pinkie pie..." then I started thinking of the giggle at the ghosties song but then doctor whooves started singing it in his own way XD I dunno how that got in my mind though... He just uses the sonic screwdriver though after the laughing so not really helping others in a way..
