Awkward, but considerate. I can't wait to read the one where she plays a more... major? roll. I suppose she's going to be a constant guest for the entirety of this series? Despite being a wanted fugitive apparently, though really... wasn't so bad.
Hahaha nice opening there and I liked the exercise, though I would have expected some splashing around in the stream. Love the caracterisation with Raindrops too. And that was actually a fairly nice bit with Twilight and Trixie. You gotta find a way to reuse that in a regular setting, with Twilight reading her book at Trixie's place. Same with the conversation with Raindrops about her desire.
Altough little typo:
When this…this ange, this boiling rage that’s always just there, bubbling beneath the surface…when it boils over. You’ve seen it first-hoof, when I wrecked half of Ponyville in my fight with Gilda, or when I threatened to kill you and was mad enough to steal a stormcloud from the patrol station to threaten you with it. Ask around and you’ll hear plenty more stories.
should read 'anger' I believe.
Also 'Everypony dreams about Big Macintosh' made me laugh
This is almost certain to end in Twixie and yet I still somehow hold out hope for trixidrops. The dream was... it left me Didn't care for the Big Mac line but that's me and apparently I'm Raindrops is a champ as always the workout was very well done and wow, that conversation about who she sometimes thought she wanted to be Don't worry Raindrops Luanverse loves you the way you are! Twilight I feel is getting a little repetitive at this point though she is getting background development and also didn't she originally steal some of those books? Fairly fun chapter overall great mechanic between Trixie and Raindrops I get the impression RD taking an exhausted trixie back into town may be misconstrued
congratulations, ou distracted me from Assassin's Creed 3, and reading this was time well spent.
Seriously though, here I was expecting more sex jokes, but this chapter was more sweet than anything. Raindrops was so cool, and the Twilight and Trixie stuff came off as more friendshipping than anything else. Keep up the awesome work.
1537344 Gotta agree, especially about the Raindrops and here romantic side; that was written just perfectly. Loved how matter of factly she accepted that Blueblood is a jerk while still pointing out that doesn't have to interfere with enjoying him purely as eye-candy. The line about BigMac was the best though, mainly because of how she said that everypony dreams about him (so not just the mares).
The Twilight bits were sweet, but kind of empty. If it ever comes to something like that in canon I'd like it to be... I don't know exactly, but more emotional maybe. Though on the crack side, I loved the fact that Twilight's solution to dealing with her heat is the same as her solution to everything else... BOOKS!
(There's probably a dirty and very awkward joke in that last part somewhere).
1537360 As far as I'm concerned loving Raindrops for who she is includes loving the mare she sometimes wishes she could be.
You know, this story has very strong sexual themes, but it doesn't go into graphic detail. I don't even think I've read the word glistening in it yet. I don't think it has really earned its mature tag yet.*HINT HINT*
I have to say so far it's this chapter that I like the most in this story. The interactions between Trixie and Raindrops/Twilight perfectly straddle that middle line that they can either be interpreted as shipping or the characters simply bonding. It... actually makes me sad that this is non-canon.
Personally I hope that you somehow canonize at least some of these moments/character development somehow RDD, simply for the character bonding/development at least.
With every chapter you make this crack-fic feel less like crack and more like another awesome addition to the Lunaverse. That's a good thing, by the way.
I liked the interactions between Trixie and Raindrops here. For whatever reason, the two just work perfectly off of each other. It's also nice to have a chapter that doesn't rely almost entirely on sex jokes. In fact, outside of the dream, most of them were very downplayed in favor of the great characterization of the chapter's leads.
And oh, there's Twilight. Her scene is...okay. Twi getting through her heat by reading was humorously in-character, but otherwise, it just felt kind of bland. The whole joke here seems to be reversing Twixie, and while they were funny earlier, this one falls a little flat. Still, good chapter.
In a way shame that this Twilight/Trixie interaction isn't more L-Verse canon then fun side Story. It's nice to see them slowly reconciling. Of course that likely leads to sex in this rather then just character growth but still it's well written.
1537883 It's both, or rather, I've heard it both ways.
1537534 "Yowza" is a fairly common exclamation, actually...
1537488 As pointed out, it's a euphamism. Like saying "a date with Rosey Palms."
'Sides, we don't know what Twelve or Thirteen might be like. Or One back when he was younger. Certainly One had at least one kid, this being necessary to have Susan as a grandkid, so it's not like the Doctor is chaste.
I liked this chapter. Really I'm a fan of any chapter that has Trixie and Raindrops together. Those two just work so well together.
A-and Big Macintosh,” Trixie interrupted, feeling the floodgates tearing open.
“Everypony dreams about Big Mac,” Raindrops said, looking wistfully into the sky.
Yeah that got a good chuckle out of me. Though I do love how even Trixie thinks that Caramel and Big Mac are doing it. It's no wonder Caramel can't seem to find a date.
Personally I'm loving the bits with Twi randomly showing up at the Residency, and would also love to see that in L'verse canon. Not sure if canon L'Trixie would react so passively to it, however.
I can't decide whether I want Trixie to fall for Raindrops or Twilight. I feel stronger for Twilight, but I sympathise with Raindrops. It's just so damn frustrating!!!
Not much for me to add that others haven't already said. Raindrops and Trixie working out was really nice and Raindrops had some good lines. Nice work!
Uh oh. Trixie and Twilight are bonding! Over BOOKS! 'Tis the end!
D'awww! They are bonding I'm kind of sad now that this isn't canon. A wonderfull chapter. Refreshingly free of conflict and escalation of events. I'm sure that's not going to last.
> Therefore, she returned to her living room, bid Twilight Sparkle a goodnight, > and closed her eyes, ready to just sleep through the rest of her heat if at all possible –
This is really cute and well done. I jumped into this story with no background on the universe nor any of the players. Everything is just wonderful. Mostly because it is smooth and well thought out. I will catch up with the universe but fo now I will just read and enjoy a side story. Kepe up the good work. ^_^
Or better yet since this is technically crack fic (a crack fic that has some character interactions and developments that I desperately hope at least some of which will be canonized in some way but a crack fic non the less) sooooooo.... romantic non-sexual OT3?
I have no idea what's going on in this Lunaverse except everything got switched around and the real Elements of Harmony seem to just be regular ponies... aside from Twilight who... apparently realizes she's supposed to be Magic?
Either way, she's still being adorably considerate.
1541592 If you follow the link in the description, things will be explained.
Seeing as this is an AU, though, I dislike the term "real" Elements of Harmony. Twilight Sparkle and her friends aren't the "real" Elements of Harmony, they're just the EoH in their universe. In this universe, the EoH are Trixie and her friends instead. But neither are the "real" ones and neither are "supposed" to be the EoH. Simply in one universe, things played out one way, and in another, things played out differently.
Think of it like a game of Clue. In one game, it was Colonel Mustard who killed Mr. Boddy. In another, it was Miss Scarlet. Niether are "supposed" to be the killer, however - it's just how the cards were played out.
Twilight in this universe just happens to think, due to the events of Lunaverse Season 1 Episode 7, "Boast Busted," that Trixie doesn't deserve the Element of Magic because Trixie isn't actually all that amazing a spellcaster, lacking both a huge pool of magical power the way Twilight has, as well as a vast repetoire of known spells (Trixie prefers to practice and perfect the spells she knows, rather than branch out and learn more). Twilight doesn't understand that the Element of Magic is about more than just raw spellcasting ability, however.
Twilight in this universe was never Celestia's star pupil, Celestia being locked away in the sun as she had become the evil mare Corona, but Twilight was never Luna's pupil, either. She was still enraptured by magic and so went to Luna's Magic Academy, however, and graduated from it with a perfect GPA, and a year early besides. She also never had Spike: the test she took to enter the magic academy was different. As a result of this, however, she is even more withdrawn and socially awkward than Twilight was in Episode 1 of FiM. All of her devotion to Celestia has gone completely into studying magic, which is pretty much the end-all-be-all of her existance. When she learned that Trixie, whom she knew to be Princess Luna's student, had helped to defeat Corona and become the bearer of the Element of Magic, she came to believe that Trixie had to be a kind of sorcerer supreme, an all-powerful archmage on a level equal to Star Swirl the Bearded himself. When she actually met Trixie, however, and learned just how...well...Trixie she is, Twilight became convinced that Trixie is somehow pulling one over on Princess Luna and is nothing more than a gigantic fraud.
Aha, that explains things nicely. Think I'll find my way over to it when I'm not catching up on updates then. Figured it was a subversion of events in the main universe, rather than a completely separate one. Works out all the same for me.
That was a really sweet scene between Trixie and Twilight! It shows that they do actually have a lot in common. I like the way that Twilight keeps alluding to her situation as a wanted fugitive, but doesn't actually come out and say "Wah, my life is dreadful!"
It's pretty cool to see a softer side to Raindrops, too. I really wanted to give her a hug when she talked about how much she hates having her anger issues.
1541916 Interesting, although she's less of a fraud here, and more of a small time magic user whereas Twilight is still sort of ubercharged unicorn. Not sure I buy the choice of elements, but then there's more lunaverse stuff. I forget, this is lunaverse fanfic sorta, right?
I'm still kinda hoping for TwilightxTrixie relationship of some kind, just not sure how that would pan out. Somehow, I doubt Twilight has ever 'conquered' heat, probably just ignores the drive somehow and being away from stallions and a loner probably helps.
1547540 Well, to be fair, Trixie was never exactly a fraud. Yes, she lied, but that's what stage performers do.
Still, it's a valid point. In the Lunaverse Trixie has had some actual magical education from Princess Luna and so is much better a spellcaster than her Mane universe counterpart.
Twilight as we've seen in MLP basically has four features: - She knows a lot of spells, thanks to being very good at learning spells from books. - Most of her spells seem to be, in D&D terms, Conjuration (moving objects around, or creating objects from nothing) and Transmutation (altering existing objects). Interestingly, this means that while her personality is introverted, her magic is very flashy and extroverted - She has a LUDICROUS mana pool - However, casting any but the most familiar spells to her seems to be very taxing. She's not mana-efficient.
I have the theory that the more you cast a spell, the easier it becomes, as you figure out ways of doing them easier. Basically like any other task, practice makes perfect. Twilight, however, is always in a rush to learn another spell. Thus while she knows a HUGE number of them, she's not particularly interested in actually practicing them. Basically she attempts the spell until she can cast it, and then moves on. And, she'd much rather find a new spell for given situation X, then try and use one of her existing spells to solve the problem. This results in her generally "wasting" a lot of mana on each spell she can cast, and not always being able to utilize a spell to its full potential. Contrast, however, with her teleportation spell. She's been constantly using it throughout the series, and has been shown to be getting better and better at it.
Trixie is the inverse of this in most ways: - She knows only a few spells (compared to Twilight), largely because she's sort of magic-dyslexic: she's not very good at learning spells from books and is much better at copying spells she's seen cast (she feels that trying to learn a spell from a book is like trying to learn a dance from a book: possible, but a lot of the dance is lost in the writing). - Most of her spells are Illusions, though she's branched a little into Divination and Enchantment as well (the latter mostly for sleep spells). Interestingly, this means that while her personality is extroverted, her actual magical skill is very subtle and introverted. - Trixie has an average mana pool. In fact, Lyra has more raw magic to toss around than Trixie does. - However, Trixie has an innate understanding of how magic works. She's never mana-inefficient with any spell she's familiarized herself with.
Unlike Twilight, Trixie is constantly practicing every spell she knows, and as a result is very good with them, to the point where she is actually capable of casting multiple spells simultaneously, something we've only seen Twilight do once, with the Ursa Minor, and she nearly passed out from the effort. She is so good with some of her spells that they practically don't tax her at all and are as easy as breathing. It's worth noting here that both Twilight and Trixie, having special talents of Magic, are capable of learning any spell put in front of them. They simply have chosen specialties: Twilight is a Conjurer/Transmuter, while Trixie is an Illusionist/Diviner. Twilight is power where Trixie is finesse.
Trixie has an additional leg up on Twilight inthat she's also a very good stage magician, in the sense of smoke-and-mirrors, sleight-of-hoof, misdirection, doubletalk, etc. Basically, she doesn't have to cast spells in order to do magic. Twilight makes up for this by being more learned and knowledgeable.
Wonderful
Twilight is so considerate
Awkward, but considerate. I can't wait to read the one where she plays a more... major? roll. I suppose she's going to be a constant guest for the entirety of this series? Despite being a wanted fugitive apparently, though really... wasn't so bad.
Yay, staying up for homework troubles has earned me ONE update. Nice little chapter right there too. Keep it up.
Simply amazing. I don't even care about the other stuff. That scene at the end with Twilight almost made me daw for some reason.
THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME!!!!!

Oh, good chapter BTW...
Yeah.
I always use images to help convey my thoughts.
Reverse Twi-Trixie shipping! I love the Luna verse.

Nnnng. I'm going to miss that soothing aloe when we return to the regular Lunaverse burn.
Normally, I see Twixie as overplayed... but Lunaverse Twixie .... It's actually kind of fun.
And RainTwIxie: muahahah.
When this…this ange, this boiling rage that’s always just there
Ange is a word? so real (Im sorry for sarcasm)
This is almost certain to end in Twixie and yet I still somehow hold out hope for trixidrops.

Aw, that was sweet. Looks like day, 3 I think? went reasonably well for Trix. Course, this is almost certainly a break before things get silly again.
Okay seriously, Trilight is cute. (yes trilight, reverse universe so Trixie comes first.)
congratulations, ou distracted me from Assassin's Creed 3, and reading this was time well spent.

No pain, no game
1. I thought the saying was; "No pain, no gain"? Not too sure but yeah.
The ending of this chapter left me with a feel inside of me... a small one but still a feel none the less.
No idea if having feels in a proclaimed crack fic is good but I still feel the same all the way

Very cute thus far. Very high quality friendshipping for a crack fic.

1539020 the awkward thing is that I have that very same jet lighter, now I feel like a druggy
This chapter wasn't as funny as the others. I think I was getting used to the constant funny come-ons.
By no means does that mean I think it was a bad chaper. It was well written exposition I think.
Everypony dreams about Big Mac
Okay, much better. Nice to see raindrops helping out Trixie like that. Good on her.
Wait a minute... After the events of Boast Busted, wasn't Twilight a wanted criminal?
1545931
Yes. Though Trixie feels really guilty for what happened, and knows that Twilight probably doesn't mean anypony any harm.
But yes.
1537360>>1537570>>1537706 All of these pretty much sum up my thoughts.
1541916
Interesting, although she's less of a fraud here, and more of a small time magic user whereas Twilight is still sort of ubercharged unicorn. Not sure I buy the choice of elements, but then there's more lunaverse stuff. I forget, this is lunaverse fanfic sorta, right?
1545936
Odd and interesting.
I'm still kinda hoping for TwilightxTrixie relationship of some kind, just not sure how that would pan out. Somehow, I doubt Twilight has ever 'conquered' heat, probably just ignores the drive somehow and being away from stallions and a loner probably helps.
1547540
Well, to be fair, Trixie was never exactly a fraud. Yes, she lied, but that's what stage performers do.

- She has a LUDICROUS mana pool
- However, casting any but the most familiar spells to her seems to be very taxing. She's not mana-efficient.
I have the theory that the more you cast a spell, the easier it becomes, as you figure out ways of doing them easier. Basically like any other task, practice makes perfect. Trixie is the inverse of this in most ways:

She is also very adaptive with her magic; for given situaton X, she'd much rather make use of a spell she already knows than try and find a new one. Finally, she's very good at modifying spells she knows to suit new needs; for example, in one story she learned a spell from Lyra that let her summon Lyra's lyre to her hooves after watching Lyra cast it once; later, she modified the spell in just a few seconds to use it to grab her cape from home.

I keep telling people, Trilight is .
Twixie is , so is Sparklemoon.
