After receiving some exciting news, Spike, Flurry Heart and her friends venture off to Nordo Dracos, where they find the Northern Drakes. These large, lovable dragons are ruled by a mighty king and live under the watchful eye of the mystical, living mountain: His Elevated Eminence. Will Spike finally get answers to where his family has been this entire time? He may get much more than what he bargained for!
Inspired by the official show, this is part of a fan-made sequel series I created called "Flurry Heart's Story", which documents the adventures of Flurry Heart as she makes friends and faces new and familiar villains, some of which may still be redeemable.

Well, starting off strong right out of the gate! Buttercream's already made quite a name for herself, both in the storyverse, thanks to the video game, and from your adorable artwork of her, Alex, but here she is, in the scales (and the pudge, lol), meeting and blowing the minds of ponies who love playing as her! Night Shade might have turned out disappointing to Flurry and Pumpkin due to circumstances, but Butter? She's the real deal, and no mistake. Who wouldn't love her, and who wouldn't want a hug from her? =)
But wow...I was not expecting a revelation like that at the end. Buttercream is Spike's twin sister?! I didn't see that coming! Of course, you must've planned this from the start, without how similar they are in appearance. They both even grew up to be a pair of chubby and lovable butterballs. XD . Like I said, starting off really strong, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the rest goes! =)

After the disappointment of what they went through in the last story, this one is a breath of fresh air for the kids and a very good time for Butter to show up!
And yup, she's his sister! I actually didn't have it planned right from the start exactly. She was originally supposed to have horns and be a Southern Drake, but I thought she looked cuter without them and not long after I created her, I thought I should have her be Spike's sister since I wanted to have Spike find his family anyway. This story might've been much later in the series if I hadn't been chomping at the bit to reveal this. XD

I also am entirely expecting some of the older ponies to treat Butters like a Sludge 2.0 what with the exposition dump making her sound not as believable. But we readers have met Butters before, so she's a-ok in my book!

That could have been an issue, but she's already presented enough evidence and there will be more she'll talk about in chapter 2, whereas Sludge got a ton of things wrong like knowing Spike was a boy and when they asked him about all the plotholes with his story, he just cried and said he wished he had all the answers. Butter has actually done her homework here. Before this, she's taken weeks to get things around and look for her parents, and she had to talk to Celestia to figure out if Spike was the other missing purple egg.
I'm looking forward to what's in store!

This was an awesome start Alex, looking forward to see what the next chapter will bring & how those 3 scale rascals that I saw on DA fit into the story!

Know what… I do wish that we had more adventures with Buttercream before but I do think the adult ponies should be cautious since they won’t want a repeat. Really I think Celestia should been there though a dna 🧬 check also helps.
I definitely agree Spike should had found his family in the show. Even just a sibling would had been fine.

True, true. Just seems like the exposition express kinda plowed straight into the conversation here. I do get that she's excited, and that she did a ton of prior research, but it tends to make the characters sound like they're info-dumping when you get to the long rambling explanations

Wow I got to say this was a pretty surprising event going on here wow so it was a pretty normal day but apparently there's a dragon showed up in Ponyville but it's not just any other dragon her name is buttercream which a lot of ponies and creatures knows her from that game she's in and she even Meet flurry heart and the rest of her friends and they were pretty excited to meet another famous creature after what happened the last time which that's still kind of upsets me but never mind apparently she has some news to talk with Spike and she told the kids what's up and with all that they tried to find Spike as fast as they can and once they found him buttercream was pretty nervous saying something to him but she has to or else she won't never get that off her chest she told him about the history of the eggs was stolen by a giant bird and it also turns out that these two are related to each other their brother and sisters in fact twins Spike couldn't believe it after all these years tried to figure out where he came from it came to him and he didn't want it to believe it after what happened with sludge but he knew this is real and he was pretty happy to see her I think it's a pretty nice family reunion and something tells me they got a lot of to catch up with what happened throughout their years guess we'll find out next time
I wish Spike and Buttercream could've met during the main story line. But this is just as good

In one day, Spike's gained a family he never knew he had, but had all along! Also, I had to look it up, and I see another callback to an earlier gen with His Elevated Eminence. A sentient mountain, huh? Interesting!
Seeing Spike reunite with his siblings and his mother was really sweet, especially since I just came from seeing your drawings of them pop up in my dA inbox. =)
And a dragon in rage mode that King Smite is dealing with? We've seen dragons who've undergone greed-induced bigness, but a state of rage? That sounds ominous...

Lol, Singe and Scorch will want to test Spike's wrestling abilities at some point! It's important for Northern Drakes to know how to wrestle good when they reach adulthood and the reason why will be explained in the next chapter.

Aww this was a pretty nice chapter so it looks like buttercream explained to spike about her family heritage and not only that he also have siblings three of them actually and their mom and dad are royalties so that makes Spike a prince which that blew my freaking mind but pretty awesome and there are about to go meet up with their family but flurry heart and the others wanted to go getting permission from their parents they let them hopefully they will be okay and they finally arrived to the dragon area where Spike and buttercream were born and it's much different from the Dragon Land so I can tell you that but still he even got the chance to meet his siblings and it's a pretty nice reunion and also his mother as well it's a pretty emotional reunion here as well but I wonder what the Kings reaction would be guess we'll find out next time

Wow, Spike has a pretty big family. Not to mention the reveal that he was royalty the entire time! Pretty big reveal there, and a heartwarming reunion with most of his family. I am interested in Spike's dad now, since everyone says Spike looks a lot like him. Though for some reason I have a bad feeling these happy times won't last for long.
